When's the big day?

When I was there, there was a section on the side back wall of dresses you could buy off the rack. I tried a few on. Not sure they could alter it unless you have an appt already as they book months in advance.

Big day is December 23- eeek

I will have a look and see what's there. Thanks

@@Sara1603 Also, I forgot to sort of advertise where I got my dress haha. They have really beautiful ones and the prices are really good. I got a sample dress there and they had it cleaned and ready for me within about 2 weeks. That's without alterations, but I know they have their own alterations department there so it doesn't hurt to ask whether they could do a rush order. It's called Blissful Bridal and I highly recommend them.

Thanks for your input :)

Is Blissful Bridal by Chinook?

It is! It's in the same little commercial area where cactus club is on Macleod

Ok thanks! I know where that is. I'll go have a look.

I almost bought a hair piece at blissful bridal. They had some Beautiful dresses and the few I snuck a peek at weren't expensive either. There is also another bridal store by the spence diamonds across from chinook.

For those who already shopped for bridesmaid dresses, where did you find the best prices? I'm helping out my maids of honor with $150 and they can either shop within that price or pay the difference since they get to choose their own dress. Is that realistic?

The only bridal store I went to for the ladies was David's Bridal. I had looked online and knew their prices were reasonable. I looked at short styles only but they were all around $160 - although they do have sales! So that fits totally into your budget for them.

I searched hi and low for a cheaper option - internet, department stores, prom type stores (Oksana's) and the like and while I could sometimes find something cheaper it just didn't excite me - whether quality be cheaper or too much bling, etc. Sometimes I would find the perfect dress but not in my color, ugh! Was frustrating so just decided to help them out some with the cost and get something that would look great and work for everyone :)

Good luck.

I like the dresses i've seen on David's bridal, on the website, but then we stopped by with the fiance the other day and I only liked one dress that they had there. I think it's the same one as the one for your bridesmaids haha. My color is so hard to find! I've looked online as well but I don't know if I want to risk buying something that no one has been able to try on.

There are some online stores that have great options but most are in China, etc. I'm also a little weary of purchasing online no matter where the store is, just in case. So I feel you there. David's had about 4-5 I really liked :)

Did they have a color close to yours?

Another thought -- have you been into Oksana's in Sunridge Mall? There is a wide selection there. I know they can order in some colors depending on brand and also provide a discount of 10% when you order 3 or more.

Oh I had never heard of them! Will need to make a trip there for sure since I will be paying for my girls' dresses... Whatever savings I can get the better! Was hoping to keep under $150 each.
