Great "google earth-like" map on loco gringo

I am having so much fun with this map feature. Some of the names are out of date for the hotels. You can locate your hotel & then scroll down to see what is around it on the beach.

Oh good idea!! I look up EVERYTHING on google earth! Great find.

I like how you can tell if a hotel has a good beach. I also enjoy being able to see whats nearby. I found a golf course behind our hotel, a lagoon a short walk away, a marina right by us, & more!

 

More addictive than google earth is zillow.com. Its google earth with real estate prices on each house

I just realized something about this map. If there is an area with nothing more than trees, they skip it & show the next cool area. I thought a lagoon was right by our hotel, but now I see its a few miles down. I am now using these two maps together to really get an idea of whats around the hotel
