Work with Wendy! I just got married in Mexico and Wendy was my travel agent.  She did an amazing job! Nothing but positive feedback from all of our guests! She is extremely helpful and is always looking out for your best interest!

I think a travel agent is extremely helpful if they are in part coordinating your travel itinerary with your wedding consultant (if you have one). This can prove to be a cost and time saver as they know your destination, best company to use for guest transpiration, airport shuttle, hotel, etc. Location can also determine the value a travel agent can bring to your wedding. For example, a travel agent in Mexico may not be as beneficial because the costs are cheaper but in the BVI or another remote island it may be worth the extra costs!

Hello!

The Best Destination Wedding agents do not charge any additional service fees. Our job is to find the best rates possible for our clients and provide superior customer service. We are all certified destination wedding and honeymoon specialists which means we have completed many hours of training and continue to participate in ongoing education, site visits, seminars in addition to our years of experience.  We take some of the planning burden off of the wedding couple and serve as a central contact point for the couple and their guests for their travel arrangements and for any questions with the destination, resort, etc... Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding our services. Thanks!  TA Patty

Thanks for all the information guys! I was contacted by TA Patty yesterday evening and am now awaiting contract information for the selected resort. So far so good and I am excited about the possibility of not having to route calls and feel even more stressed for our destination wedding :-)

We aren't using a TA, personally. We're going to Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon and needed a flight from Portland and wanted to do a package, obviously. I had about 4 TAs tell me that it wasn't possible to do 6 days and 5 nights with RT airfare and hotel for under $1500 (our budget).

I opened up Orbitz and found a 4 star resort for $632 per person with hotel and air included. So much for that. So I will be planning it on my own! :)

For my honeymoon i shall be going to Barbados by cruise, stopping for a day then continuing on the Caribbean cruise. I have booked this through an agent as they gave me a great deal! Nothing compared to the amount i expected to pay. But the main reason i booked through a company and didnt attempt to do it myself, was purely the fact that i was getting stressed going from website to website, at least now, i know what my honeymoon will be like, and i havent stressed a single bit about it(:
