Pictures before the Ceremony????

Recommended Posts

When I got married we did "first look" photos before the ceremony, it was so great to actually be allowed to kiss and hug each other when we seen each other for the first time. And like someone else mentioned that would live you with more time after the ceremony to spend with your family and friends.

So glad this thread was started. I never thought of doing the pictures before hand. I am planning an informal beach wedding and even though I state that, I still feel drawn to some of the traditional wedding ideas. But now hearing this, I feel it is a really good idea to do pics of just him and I before hand. I think our pictures of seeing eachother for the first time with just us and not coming down the aisle will probably be more romantic and private. I am so glad you ladies posted your ideas. Thank you!!!

We are doing the bride with bridesmaids/family and groom with groomsmen/family before the ceremony and the shots of us/everyone together after the ceremony. This was simply because our ceremony is at 4 and the sun sets at 5! So we wanted to make sure we got a bunch out of the way so we didn't run out of sun.

I still want the walk down the isle to be the first he sees me, but that's just personal preference.

To each their own. Whatever works for you two is the right decision. Every bride and groom is different and everyone has different amounts of people going. So it might not be horrible to take pictures during cocktail hour if your guests are just going to party anyway. But some people want to be with their guests right away, it's really your preference.

All I know is, thank God we are spending time with these people a few days before the wedding, that way we don't have to do the table visits at the reception and take away from the partying =)

I wish we did all our pics before the ceremony! due to the logistics though of my hubby arriving at Las Caletas via the boat, there was no way to get him over to me that far ahead of the guests, so he came with all our guests and I didn't want to make them wait for us to take our pics.

We did do a first sight, which was AWESOME to have just a few mins together before the ceremony. our photog got pics of that...

anyway, because we had to do our pics after the ceremony we missed our entire cocktail hour, which was kind of a bummer. I didn't have a wedding party either so I woudl imagine that if we did have a wedding party we would have missed even more of the reception...I just wanted to get to our guests and celebrate with them!

to each their own though, whatever works for you! I would go the route though of getting them done with first!

no way! My favorite part is when the groom sees the bride for the first time when shes walking down the isle!! I'm gonna start crying just thinking about it! We're def going to do photos after...but I think its good to get some formal shots done before hand...like groom with his guys & bride with the bridesmaid ect
