My fiance mentioned maybe having our wedding on the Destiny but we're not sure exactly how that works. So for now (unless we change our minds) it maybe in DR. Does anyone know how a cruise wedding work? All you thoughts & comments are greatly appreciated.

Be Well!
I wrote a pretty detailed report of my wedding on Carnival Destiny on another site if you want to read it here is the link, Megan's cruise wedding review- Carnival Destiny 8/15/09 - Cruise Critic Message Boards
A wedding through Carnival is pretty easy if you don't mind letting someone else do some of your planning, Carnival provides a lot for you but you can't pick your photographer, cake, musicians, coordinators but these things are provided for you and you can make upgrades and some choices about them. Hope this helps if you have any more specific questions feel free to ask!

"Congratulations" Im also a Destiny future bride smile72.gif This is great to have so may of us on the same boat..lol. All of my close friends that have cruised in the past have all recommended the Carnival Destiny. I originally had made group reservation on the Carnival Liberty (7 day cruise) but it got too overwhelming with the price for everyone. We switched to the carnival destiny (4day) just a couple of months ago. I have no regrets, price dropped over half the price. We plan on having a beach ceremony on cozumel along with a reception party, and then having an after hour party back on the ship. We are sailing in July. Im still however having a very hard time with most of my guest making their initial deposits. I did STD back in August and then again in November I mailed out postcard reminders. So far I have 28 rsvp and still have about 25 who have still not rsvp (This includes people who are even in the wedding). Its very frustrating because Im pretty much on hold as far as ordering favors and so on until I get an exact count. Most of all my guest promised to make their deposits or pay in full this month (I wont hold my breath) lol....But hopefully this is the worst part.shots.gif

If you are still deciding on the port, here are my 2 cents.
For you it is probably easier to get married in Key West if you do the legal part there. Mexico requires blood tests and such, so in a one day port only it is almost impossible to do it all and have it be legal!
good luck in all the planning.

Destiny changed the cruise from 5 day to a 6 day cruise to Ocho Rios, Jamaica & Grand Cayman Island for 2011.
