Great job! I also had my dress made in China. It was $350 in the states and only $70 in China! I say doing a knock off is the way to go! Why not?!?!? For such a little price you get exactly what you want.

 

I will post some pics of mine when I try it on again. I also had a corset back but when I tried it in at the tailors, it didn't "pull" me in like I wanted because the woman that made it was being gentle and barely had it tight. I will have my friend do it up the right way and take lots of pictures!

 

Next week I'm going to see if I can have my veil made in China too!

 

I'm so lucky to live here and get all the benefits of having custom made stuff!

Honestly, it feels really great. I feel a lot more comfortable in this dress than I did in similar dresses in the salons, particularaly the destination dresses. It feels a lot more solid than just a straight chiffon, and it hangs a lot more flatteringly.
It is bridal satin with a chiffon overlay.

Congratulations -- it's beautiful, and already looks great on you! Once your seamstress alters the bust area/halter, it will fit like a fabulous, white glove! And, don't you feel like a bargainista for getting it at such a great price?!
