I ordered my Real Touch bouquets!!!!

Recommended Posts

I placed my order for my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, and 12 bouts with Shavon's Silks last week! I'm excited to see what she is going to create for me! I put down my deposit and I will pay the rest once she's finished.

It took her about two weeks to get back to me on my quote. I was LITERALLY filling out the quote form again to resubmit it when her email came through that she had taken me on! I was so excited. She had the quote out to me the next day and any changes I made she responded within a matter of a couple hours.

I don't want to step on her toes as far as posting her quote, because I think she should have room to quote what she feels necessary and not have people comparing their quotes to everyone else's quotes from BDW, but let me just say, it was QUITE reasonable..... to say the least.

I think I'm going to have my in town friends all carry their own onto the plane and I think for my two out of town friends, I will carry them to RM myself. I have enough to carry!!!!

I plan on reselling the bouquets, etc on this forum when I get back. It's my second wedding, and as much as I'm trying to be sentimental, I also know that I like saving money and that most likely those bouquets will sit underneath my bed and collect dust! So, if anyone is interested in yellow, white and navy arrangements, I may be able to help you out next June!

I've seen a lot of post regarding 'real touch' flowers. Why do BDW brides choose fake flowers? Is it because you ladies want to keep them afterwards? Are they cheaper? Are you worried that Mexico won't provide exactly what you are looking for? How will you transport them? Just interested in them and wondering what the pros and cons are.

Thanks!

I chose fake flowers because they are cheaper mainly and because I'll know exactly what I will get. I plan on selling my bouquets, etc when I get back from my wedding to another BDW poster. It's my second wedding and I know that spending a ton of money on things that will die the next day is silly.

I'm choosing to go the fake route mainly because I'm spending so much money on them I want to enjoy them when I'm home. I'm not spending much more on my bouquet than I would have if I bought real flowers from the resort and this way I have a keepsake. I was also worried about wilting and not getting exactly what I wanted but I'd have to say it was mostly so I can keep it. I am worried about transporting them there but that's what carry on is for :)

I just ordered my Real Touch Flowers as well and I'm soo excited! My wedding package just comes with a brides bouquet and Groom's bout so for me to just order these and bring them with me I know exactly what I am getting and NO WILTING! Flowers start wilting very fast in the heat down south so I know my flowers will be nice and perky the whole day...and after. I think they will look nice in a vase in our powder room after we come home as well. I figure I can use the real flower bouqet for my tosser, so my bouquet doesn't get ruined. They recommended I just throw them in my suitcase since all you have to do to them is fluff and go...or we can throw them in our dress bags which are going into the plane's closet carry on.

Love your flowers! I am having the green cymbidium Orchids in my bouquet too!

I agree with the wilting too, I want flowers that will always look fresh and fool everyone to thinking they are real!

Nice job!
