Which causes scares, also cause inferlity.. most periods I end up in the hospital. So the doctors want me to stop my period for good (they want to put me into menapause) since the doc knows were getting married, he'd like me to have a baby right away, and then do a hysterectomy. So we will be trying right after the wedding day. I personally would have loved to wait a few more years, but like the FI said not everything can worked out as planned. I rather have a child now, wether then not and regret it in a few years down the road.
maybe we'll get knocked up aroun the same time lol!1 wink.gif
I fell real sorry about your endometriosis, and I agree with your FI, not everything can have the "perfect" timing. I'm much older than you (32), and I sure wish we had started trying for kids when I was only 25! As of now, we've been trying for over 4 years, and got nothing but many problems (PCOS, probable tube problems on my right), physical suffering (5 miscarriages, increasing period pains), and sadness. Time is running out on me, I never thought I'd have my first child at 33... that is if I ever have one (and not thinking about 2 anymore). Right now I've stopped trying since December, wanted to have fun on this trip (aka Drink and Not worry about possible miscarriage while I'm in Jamaica), we'll resume the active trying (temperature, ovulation tests, timed intercourse) on next cycle, depending on when ovulation fall.

BTW, did you have an hysterosalpingography to check on your tubes, and a laparoscopy exam where they burn some of your endo? Since your period is so painfull and you won't be able to try many times, they should do this to help you I think. (Yeah, I know way too much about anything fertility related...)

Your boudoir pic is great...

P.S. thank for the number, I should call tomorrow (don't exactly know how, since I work in very open cubicles, and this wedding is secret! LOL )

I also posted dress pics on the knock-off thread:

Call me selfish, especially after your story.. I really wanted another year or 2 to get my carer started as I've been on medical leave for 2 years. But we start now, I wont be 'stable' in my mind. But like you said and FI said no perfect planning, and this is all for health reason. I know I'll be ecstatic when I get pregnant (if I get pregnant)

I am soo sorry to hear about your problem. I know it doesn't help, but now and days with the technology woman can have kids safely up until 40.
who knows, maybe since you wont be 'trying' you'll get pregnant.. I've heard the stress of 'trying' can be a real big factor in things.
I have my fingers and toes crossed for you and your FI. You deserve it so much.
Would you ever consider adopting?
We've talked about it, but it's a long and very expensive procedure, not sure I'd be up for the stress.
So if your having problems with only the right side, could they do something to try and make it easier for the left side?

I have a endo specialist, and he wanted to treat me (put me into menapause)for endo but not burn them away. So I am currently waiting to see another doctor who will burn them away. I don't see how endo and being pregnant can help. They should be burned before that. I definitely want a second opinion. My crohn's doctor aggress. But she also (crohn's doc)said I should start trying like yesterday lol.
and then stop my period for good.

Again I am so sorry for your situation,smile03.gif
We're here anytime if you want to vent or just talk (well I am)

I LOVE YOUR DRESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile159.gif
I see how it's a 'little' toooo big lol. Let me know if and when you contact the seamstress what she said. Good luck.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm sorry for both of you girls' problems. :-( Here is a very sad story about a girl who had endometriosis that my friend posted:

So no one else will suffer

Ewok, your dress is great and I'm sure it will look gorgeous once it's fitted to you!!

I went to the store where I bought my wedding dress Saturday so that my MOH could try on dresses. The real reason we were going there was that she could see me in my dress. Well, turns out they must have sold the floor sample to another bride because they could not find it anywhere. :-( My MOH and my step-daughter will have to wait until my first fitting, which will be months from now...

OMG, that is such a sad story!!! sad.gif I am by no means sucidal, but when I'm in that much pain I can admit to say ' I don't want to live right now' but when the pain is over I am so glad I am alive. I know the pain will go away at one point or another. So sad.

That sucks they couldn't see the dress. When are you doing your dress fitting? I did mine before xmas, they have been both sitting in my closet waiting for me to wear them (2 dresses)

Thank for your concern. I would never call you selfish about waiting. I understand you so well, I waited for quite a few years myself: didn't feel ready, wanted to establish my career a bit, didn't know how we could live on the 55% of 39000$ EI maternity leave that was in effect at that time... I mainly shared my story to show you one side of the coin :) I think someone who has suffered problems herself is more comprehensive about waiting even if you now it will be hard. People without problems just seem to expect us to dive in, because they don't understand the deep emotional implication of the timed cycles, treatment, suffering entailed.

As far as "not trying", this is totally not an option! I have to take quite a few things to manage my cycle and the miscarriage risks. I've gotten pregnant quite easily the other times all things considered. Now I'm taking something to regulate my cycle, monitoring my ovulation day since I then start to take progesterone to prevent miscarriage (in case it was "the" month). I so wish I could just throw everything out, but at this point it would mean getting back on the pill, because I was so crushed by the last miscarriage, I wouldn't chance one more pregnancy.

Adoption... well, I have trouble dealing with the fact that someone will get to decide if we "deserve" a child, the whole evaluation process, .... A big maybe.

So bad you couldn't get to try the dress again, and perhaps take a pic to remember till next year! :) But you'll get a huge surprise when you step in it next time! I've seen your dress in the other post, and I love the style.

Thanks for your dress praises! It helped out. I went to your seamstress today Tracy, she is great! No "bitchy" comments about my Internet China dress as I've seen reported on some boards, very easy going. She just started pinning it around, gave me bra cups & lots of padding, et Voilà! It looks much better. She will also straighten a bit the V neckline. It still won't be exactly what I wanted, but I looked so good it doesn't matter anymore. And she does work fast, she actually said we still had lots of time to go! I'm picking it up in 1.5 weeks, I'll post new pics at that time.

Thanks. I don't know when my fitting will be, but I'm guessing it won't be anytime soon. I've heard it takes a very long time to receive a Maggie dress. But even when they receive it, I don,t think I'll have it altered right away. My wedding is in over a year, so I prefer to get it altered closer to the date. My weight barely ever fluctuates, but I don't want to take the chance...

Can't wait to see the pictures Ewok!!

I should probably take the # of that seamstress as well as of the photograph you were talking to me about Carribeanlover. By the time I need both, you girls might not be on the forum as often anymore. Your weddings are coming up so fast!!! I'm jealous. cheesy.gif

I don't know if she has per hour prices, but to size down the dress (sides only, length is perfect) and add-in bra cups & padding it was around 100$. It must depend on the dress style however. No idea if mine is easy or hard!

We'll come here just to cheer you up! See, I'm jealous because I don't feel I had enough time to properly prepare everything I would have liked.

I understand the weight thing, I just got back to my college weight (awesome!), and since I'm so slim I feel that every little variation influences the clothing size.

I'm very thin and have been all my life. Then suddenly 4 years ago I gained 15 pounds in one year. For my size, that's big. One year later I lost it all again due to stress. Lately I've been noticing that my jeans are getting a little snug in the thighs area. That's where I noticed it first last time, so now I'm worrying that I'm gonna gain weight again and that my dress won't fit! I *am* much more happy this year with my FI than before I met him, and he looooves to eat, so that could explain this new weight gain... as long as I don't gain more than 5 pounds I should be ok...

And you're so nice, saying you'll come back to cheer me up. cheesy.gif

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side: you wish you had more time to prepare, I think I have wayyy too much time. LOL
