No worries Erica! A groom's cake is a southern tradition with it being a present from the bride to the groom. Traditionally since the bride's cake was white, the groom's cake is chocolate. I grew up in Texas and can't remember a wedding that did not have a groom's cake. Most of them have an Ace of Cakes type feel with college or hobby themes. We aren't doing one at our DW.

I'm from Texas, as well, but since we're only having a group of 13 and a wedding cake that feeds 25 (just because we want a 2-tier so it looks like a wedding cake), I've decided to have the "Groom's" cake delivered to the restaurant where we're having our Welcome dinner, the night before the wedding. However, it's FI's birthday, so I'm making it a suprise b-day cake instead. It will be chocolate (because he is a chocoholic).
