October in Playa del Carmen

Recommended Posts

Well, its tough to say because its pretty unpredictable here. We have been here for 3 years now... Its different every time it seems.

Rain is possible, the tropics are known for it, although they say (who knows who they are) but rainy season is in the summer months, june - july...

It is still hurricane season, so there is always a risk of a big party pooping storm, I have seen this before, especially on Oct 19 (hurricane wilma).

Weather is still super hot during the daytime, 85degrees, hot and humid. Breezy and nice. Towards the end of Oct, the weather starts to cool down a bit.

We have more on our blog about the weather and planning the start time of your ceremony: del Sol Seasonal Guide

Good luck and congrats on your location choice! Viva Playa!

Thanks for all of the replies! Lisa DSO, yes! Please let me know how the weather is upon your return! :)

I have heard it's the end of hurrican season so I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers!

We are getting married at The Royal!! It was so exciting to finally select a date/location, so now it's all about getting down to the details!

Matt thanks for your reply. I'm in the need of a great photographer, so I'm going to go check out your page!

Ok as promised:

I was there last Mon-Fri:

Monday: rained until afternoon

Tues: slightly cloudy/no rain until around 1pm, then started with scattered showers pretty much all night

Wed: would rain off and on all morning, some clouds in late afternoon/evening

Thursday and Friday: clear beautiful skies

Of course, when I went last year, there was only one day of rain and 2 days partly cloudy, so maybe this year's rain was a result of the hurricane.

I'm sure your wedding will be beautiful no matter what!
