Married/getting married at Punta Cana Resort? HELP!!!

Has anyone gotten married or is planning to get married at the Punta Cana Resort in the DR? I'm looking for info and opinions from other brides. I'm finding it really hard to put together a budget with the wedding coordinator and am having second thoughts about the resort in general. We are supposed to get married JUly 4, 2010 and am getting pretty anxious that this won't actually happen.

 

Chose PUnta Cana resort partially because it is much more affordable for my guests then other hotels. However, for the wedding everything is a la carte, compared to other places that have wedding packages. So, it seems like it will actually be MORE expensive.

 

And, the responses from the Wedding Coordinator are totally unpredictable. SOmetimes, she responds in an hour, other times it takes a few days or a week.

 

THoughts? Suggestions? Help please! Thank you

I just checked it out on trip advisor (which you should never do ) And it says they don't do all inclusive. If your going to the DR, you might really want to do an all inclusive, its awesome!!! Its so nice

 

And I checked their website, Do they do weddings? Did your TA give you the wedding co email address??

I have not heard of this resort but would love to hear what you find out. So please come back and post some notes. :-)

I was at that resort last summer (I didn't stay there, but was there for a horseback riding excursion). It's along the same stretch of beach as Club Med and seems like a really nice hotel. I did find it quite expensive though...we stopped to buy a drink at a restaurant and although I don't remember the price I do remember not being too happy about it! Be sure to check the pricing before you commit to it!

We were interested in the PuntaCana resort, but I emailed them at least 3 separate times for information and never heard back so I scratched it. Love to hear more about how your experiences go - from the website and some of the reviews I've seen, it looks lovely!
