Help! Catalina Island Wedding Travel

Hi,

 

My name is Shavonne and I am about to marry the man of my dreams!

Our wedding date is Nov 12 2009 and our location is Catalina Island in CA.

This is going to be a true adventure for the both of us considering we live in CT! Please help us...our families promised to help our small intimate wedding (approximately 10 people) financially but pulled out on Sept 28th for various reasons leaving us scammering for the rest of the funds for our big day. We have come so far...any advice?

Sorry to hear that! Are you having your wedding and ceremony on Catalina, and then staying there? What have you already committed to/paid for?

Catalina is right across the water from me, maybe I can help out? It's very easy to get to -- take the Catalina Express across (~$130 / pp round trip). I'm not sure where you were thinking, but Avalon is the main town, and the ferry takes you right there. There are tons of places that do weddings, maybe you can just find another vendor to take care of you. It's very pretty over there -- the water is so clean! Are you planning to scrap it altogether? Hello Everyone,

 

Thanks for all of the support. Just a bit of an update. The Venue we chose is the Catalina Island Country Club in Avalon, CA. We fell in love with the locale and the island so much so that we paid relatively over $1200 which is over half the cost of our entire wedding. Can someone please help! Anyone have frequent flyer miles?
