Reception on the beach??

Recommended Posts

My ceremony will be on the beach but now I am trying to decide whether to have the reception (full dinner and dancing) on the sand as well. I sort of just assumed the reception would be on the sand but now my father and fiance don't seem to like this idea. Their concerns are.... #1 people will have to be dressed up but barefoot. They don't think someone in a suit will be comfortable on the beach with no shoes. #2 The chairs can get stuck in the sand. Also, if it is windy, will the sand end up all over the place, even in the food?

I am hoping to get some feedback. Is anyone else looking into having the reception on the beach? Is there anyone who already had their reception on the beach and has positive/negative feedback to give about it?

Thanks!!

My family had the same issues so we decided against it. Hopefully someone who has done will give feedback but in my opinion there were too many drawbacks to having it on the beach, especially considering that it'll be dark and you won't really be able to see the ocean. Just my 2 cents!]

I'm not having my ceremony on the beach, but I think would depend on several things, like when and where is your wedding? Sometimes when the sun goes down, it can be cool by the water. I agree with your father and FI about being in a suit and barefoot. For us ladies, sundresses would probably be ok.

We are having our ceromony on the beach, lounge furniture and a dance floor set up on the beach for cocktails and dancing, and will have dinner on the pool deck, which is only a couple yards away. Is there some where eles you could have dinner...People always take there shoes of for dancing anyways so I don't think they would mind that part on the beach
