From the sweeping beauty of Hanalei Bay to legendary Bali Hai, the Princeville Resort matches natural splendor with classic refinements, from championship golf and an oceanfront pool to the intimate rooms and suites terracing the cliffs of Pu'upoa Point. On Kauai's lush north shore lies what many consider to be the most beautiful resort on earth, the Princeville Resort. Here, valleys carve their way through hills of antique green and the blue-green ocean seems to stretch to infinity.

At Princeville Resort excellence is more than a concept. It's integrated into the guest experience, from the posh amenities and matchless service to the stunning surroundings.

Perched above Hanalei Bay and famous Bali Hai on Kaui's North Shore, this Luxury Collection hotel is the focal point of the 9,000-acre resort community of Princeville, which encompasses two world-class golf courses, a spa and fitness center, gourmet dining in three restaurants and outstanding banquet facilities.

For couples wishing to say "I do" on the "Garden Isle", Princeville Resort and its wedding specialists can host any type of event. Weddings in grand style may be held on the lushly landscaped beach lawn with the ocean and emerald green mountain range of Na Molokama as a backdrop. The stately Grand Ballroom and adjacent Bay Terrace or Makana Terrace make for an equally festive affair while more casual ceremonies may be arranged on Hanalei beach, next to the glittering infinity pool.

Catered by the resort's culinary staff, dinners and receptions offer a memorable fare of exquisite Pacific Rim cuisine and a wedding cake prepared by expert pasty artists

I would love to see a picture. What time of year was it when you were there? I'm worried about the rain. A little is okay, but I hear the north shore is a bit wet! I stayed on the south shore in Poipu and it rained just a bit, but for the most part it stayed true to its reputation as the sunny side of the island. Thanks for the info!!

I used to live in Hawaii and visited relatives in Hanalei about once a month. It is the most beautiful place on earth! You are very right though to be concerned about rain. Part of what makes the north shore so amazing is the lushness and the mountains, both of which mean lots of rain in the winter months.

If you aren't committed to February, you should look between late April and and early December when the weather is spectacular. Or go as you mentioned to the south shore where there is far less rain in the winter months.

Good luck!!!

I was there at the end of May, and we had great weather. It rained during the night when we were there, but everything had cleared up by the morning. There were always rainbows! I liked Kauai better than Maui, but was only in Maui for two days and did not get to see everything. Kauai didn't seem so touristy. We went snorkeling, did the helicopter ride (this is a must!), botanical gardens, luau at the Princeville was nice and they had fire dancers. The pool was great! Be sure to bring your ID to the pool though because they card you. We ate at the bufett breakfast everyday and it was great, we had lunch at the pool one day and dinner one night at one of te restaurants. All the meals were excellent. I will post the pictures when I get a chance.

Thanks so much for the info! We just really love the whales and want to be there during whale season that is why we are sorta stuck on February. If someone knows of a wedding planner over there I would love a referral! I need to start making calls - I have a feeling that because the island is smaller and there isn't so many resorts/hotels, etc. (as compared to some of the other islands) dates probably book up faster. And I thought I was way ahead of the game with a Feb 2009 wedding! Princeville looks gorgeous and I am going to look into it a bit more since I keep hearing wonderful things about it.

Thanks again!
