Hi All

Wll I firstly would like to say hi to everyone new to this site and am hoping for a little advice from experienced cruisers!!!

Myself and FH live in Ireland neither of us have ever cruised before but have decided to get married on ship or at a port of call to do something completely different from the norm!!

We have booked a western carribean cruise hitting haiti, jamaica, grand cayman, mexico with Royal Carribean - Freedom Of The Seas!!

I am in the process of booking my wedding/reception side of it all now and just can not decide where to get married!!

On ship in the chapel or shoreside at one of the three destinations!! As im a virgin cruiser I m hoping people will share their experiences good or bad and help me decide!!

I am leaning towards grand cayman shoreside but am getting put off with the thought of this stop being cancelled as I hear this is common due to the crazy weather!!! Royal Romance have sent lovely pics of the beach here just wondering anyone get married here etc.

Please help an Irish Newbie!!!

What time of year is the wedding? Grand Cayman in say Aug-Oct I'd probably avoid. Any other time of year you've got just as much a chance as missing that port as you do any other. We work with a fabulous planner on the island who does a great job with our cruise couples.

Your safest bet is going to the be chapel onboard. And I would select that over any other location on the ship. At least you know what your environment will look like (unlike if you had to use a lounge or nightclub). After that I'd recommend Jamaica.

I did a similar itinerary on Carnival (and my Irish cousins came along, where in Ireland are you from??) I left out of Miami and got married on the ship in port because I married in Aug and was worried about missing ports. I wasn't thrilled with Jamacia but it would be a pretty place to get married the beaches are nice it is just the people trying to sell stuff that is hard to handle. Grand Cayman was beautiful and lots of fun but if you got married there then you wouldn't be able to sight see or go on excursions, and I don't know anything about Mexico. Hope this helps a little bit.
