Welcome to the forum Tifany. I am a Tiffany trying to plan a DW wedding also, but we have to work around my FI's immediate family schedule. With an elementary, high, college, and grad student as his sibs, and a mother who teaches, it's not easy! However, we are looking between Cancun and Riviera Maya, around Playa and a little north, because it is so much closer to the airport. Happy hunting and there are overwhelming amounts of affordable resorts!

My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (attire, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY!

 

And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process -- a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen!

planning the destination is the best part! good luck deciding, i myself am a riviera maya bride, just a ways from playa del carmen! I can tell you that the variety of beautiful backdrops for pictures is the biggest draw for me, not to mention the stunning beaches that surround the area! Plus, the resorts in this area are outstanding, I went with Secrets Maroma Beach.
