Should we be paying for the off-property guest day passes

I have been wondering about this and how to handle it.  Thank you for all your insight!

We have two couples staying off property. One couple we are covering and one we are not. I think it really depends on the circumstances. 

 

Overall, I think that if guests choose to stay off property then the day pass fee should be on them. If we had other guests staying off property (with the exception of the one couple we are covering) I wouldn't cover extra passes.

In the end we paid for our guests .... They lived in Mexico but the day pass at our resort was from 6-2 or 2-6 which doesn't really work for our wedding. The wedding day pass included 3 hours before the ceremony until the reception was over and included their meal/booze for the included 3 hours. There was no way we would have made them pay for their meal at our wedding. Certainly depends how it all works. At the beginning the fee was communicated as their fee but when we really figured out how it worked there was no way we could ask them to pay!

We have one couple not staying at the resort and we are having them pay their day passes - but they are a special circumstance as well and we did not feel obligated to pay for them.

 

But we have about 7 people who live in Jamaica coming and we ARE paying their day passes at $80 each. That is a lot of money for a Jamaican so if we didn't pay they wouldn't be able to come. So we budgeted for that.
