Hey Ladies - looked to see if this topic was already covered but i was wondering which Wedding Superstitions you have heard?

The only one I know is that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride brfore the wedding (on the day of)

Isn't there one where it's bad luck for the bride to trip while walking through the door, that's why the groom carries her over the threshold?

 

I just keep thinking, what about if the groom trips while carrying the bride? lol

I heard it's good luck to put a penny in your shoe. If it's an old penny, you could include it as 'something old,' too! I'm not sure if I'll have anywhere to put a penny though, as I'll be wearing flip flops!

I think it's bad luck to sleep with the groom the night before the wedding...although being a destination wedding, I'm not sure what we'll do about that!

Umm...I've heard it's bad luck to wear your wedding rings before you get married. Trying them on to check the fit is fine, but wearing them all willy nilly...bad luck!. But then again my source who told me this is fully of poo poo....lol!

There's a really old tradition that you should get married when the second hand of the clock is going upwards. It represents you and your husband working upwards to make your marriage stronger. When the second hand is heading downward, it is considered bad luck!
