Don't be overwhelmed, I remember how easy it is to get stressed about planning. But really just take it one step at a time. Find a place YOU are comfortable with going and go from there. Read some reviews on here and find the best resort that matches what YOU want. DW's are easy to let guests and family members pick your wedding but don't let that happen.... find something you think is suitable, keeping everyone in mind.

Congratulations! I live on the east coast and know that certain airlines offer very reasonable fares to the airport in Cancun. Just pick a place that isn't too far from there and you'll be set. Don't stress out too much!

Question -- where in Pa is your family from? I live in York (south central Pa, about an hour north of Baltimore). Not trying to pry....just curious!

 

My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (attire, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY!

 

And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process -- a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen!

Congrats and Welcome to the Forum! I will echo what has already been said, Mexico and the Northern parts of the Carribean (Bahamas, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, etc..) should be relatively affordable, and will al be gorgeous! Take a look at the wedding review section to some some pics of various locations, and don't be afraid to cantact a TA right away.
