Would you sneak in a photographer?

Hi Jennifer,
I did ask Barbie (the WC from Florida) about this policy and she claimed to know nothing about it. I even called the front desk in Boscobel before I left, same there. Regardless of any 3 day stay. This is better than nothing, of course but really only benefits brides who are flying their own photographers in with them. Locals do not want to stay on site for 3 days, I even asked about an overnight stay which was almost $300.00 per person. So still, the only ones Sandals/Beaches are letting benefit from this policy are themselves.

Alright, here are my new thoughts on the situation.

I just returned from sneaking onto the Sandals Negril property to take pictures. It actually went fine... however would I do it again, NO! They didn't appear to actually have any problems with having a photographer there, so I would suggest you simply get it in writting from the WC and do it the legit way. I didn't like having to "sneak around" (there is no sneaking with a camera this size) and I couldn't bring or carry my equipment the way that I wanted to. I was constantly having to hide memory cards in case they would take them from me and of course all of the lies got old too.

In the end, like I said, the wedding went beautifully and we got great photos, but I would have your travel agent talk with the resort wedding coordinator and simply get it worked out ahead of time.

I'm bringing a photographer with me that actually is a friend of mine, but we're going to Couples Negril where they allow outside photographers. She's staying at the resort, so I don't have to pay anything additional.

If we were staying at a different resort that didn't allow outside photographers, I would still bring her and even if she wasn't a friend, I would say she was. How can they prove it? She could be a relative for all they know. Photographers have family & friends too! :)

I've received written permission for almost every single Sandals/Beaches resorts for my brides that are still nervous from the weddings manager and I have spoken directly to the head of weddings this December - it's not been an issue for my brides at all! I usually get the permission the same day I request it and have been told that I do not need to even get permission from my brides anymore- that just to let the WC know!

That being said the photographer does have to stay on property for the required 3 nights!
