Customs in Mexico - declaring wedding stuff

I brought all of my own kissing balls (silk flowers) and wedding décor with me, with receipts. My understanding is that is excluded from the $300 declaration amounts, but I had receipts just in case. You just have to keep making clear that it is all for a wedding and not for sale. I learned how to say that in Spanish as well just in case! lol

We had 7 luggages and they opened every single one but never asked for receipts or anything. I just explained what everything was even though the guy probably didn't speak english and understand what I said.

I brought back my bouquet from mexico too which you're supposed to claim.

Oh wow! I'd love to be able to bring my bouquet back. I didn't think this was an option :)

Technically, you are NOT allowed to bring back fresh flowers from Mexico. Anything organic (food, plant , etc) is not suppose to cross the borders. Just be aware of that. (If they are fake flowers, not an issue)

The only things you have to claim are gifts....so OOT bag items and any other gifts you are giving to your bridal party or who ever. I had receipts for everything including decor. As soon as the X-ray guy saw all of our travel mugs, I knew we were getting a red light...so over to the checking area, they just had us open all our luggage, did a quick pat down of it, asked what we were doing there and sent us through. No one checked my receipts which I was a little sad since I was so organized! Lol
