For those who have done TTD-just how trashed did it get?

Recommended Posts

I have a question for all you ladies who have trashed your dress-I'm wondering just how trashed does it get?

I'm hoping to do a TTD, and was considering getting a separate dress for it, but now I'm thinking about just using the actual ceremony dress so I won't have to deal with two dresses to buy and make alterations to. I don't think I'd do anything too crazy for it-just wear it into the water. So I guess I'm just wondering if it will be completely ruined after going into the ocean. Do you think it could be suitable for wearing again after drycleaning?

Any input would be much appreciated!

Ive not trashed a dress but there are lots of girls who have.Im just thinking i dont know of anyone who has posted there dress got ruined.Infact most have said the dress was cleaner.I have been to lots of wedding shops and fairs lately and all have offered the information that there dresses go in the washing machine on a 30 cycle.Im not sure if that can be said of silk dresses, but im sure youll be fine.I purchased a basque for £250 that retails for £3,000 at a wedding fair it was grubby so a good friend of mine laid it in a bath of liquid washing detergent and a toothbrush and it came out beautifully. We drip dried it on the hanger on the line sat back and watched it twinkle in the sunlight and if im honest breathed a sigh of relief but it worked
