DIY Boutonnieres

I found these DIY button boutonnieres from Martha Stewart and decided to try it since we're on a tight budget and we don't care that much about having flower boutonnieres. FH liked these too because they are more "manly" =) We're really happy with how they turned out so I thought I'd share (sometimes you never know with Martha!)

 

We did all six of them for $10 and it took me one evening. I used leftover fabric swatches from the bridesmaids dresses for most of the buttons (so the colors match our color scheme exactly!) and then got some sample swatches for free at JoAnns of a print to add some dimension (and green for the leaves).

 

I need to clean them up a little and tie a ribbon around the "stems" but here is an early picture!

Very cute! I DIY'd my own bout as well. Might I suggest taking the floral tape & wrapping the ends of the button "flowers" together? I think that would finish them off just right. Fab job though.
