"So You Think You Can Dance" Fall 2009

I completely agree. I just watched my DVRed episodes last night...what the hell was up with the cape routine that Legacy and Ashley did? That was the choreography all the way in my opinion. I want the WOW routines! I'm sure some of these dancers are quite capable if they are given the routines to SHOW IT OFF!

I am sorry this season is one of the best. Some of the solo acts stink but some of these dances are amazing. I really liked the group dance last week. This season is so much better then last season.

So it's the finale and my favorites are: Russell for a guy and Kathryn for a girl. I really also like Ellenore as well, but I like Kathryn better. Ashleigh ended up growing on me throughout this season and I do like her now, but I don't want her to win. Oddly enough, as Ashleigh grew on me, Ryan grew blah to me. He's been my least favorite guy for a while. No real reason, just one of those things. Legacy was my fave guy, but Russell was such a close second that I was ok when L had to leave. I think that even though I like Kathryn alot, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Russell! He just looks like one of the sweetest people that I've ever seen before and he has grown ridiculously.

 

ETA: oh, I forgot to say that while my faves are Russell and Kathryn, I read online that Jakob is the favored winner. He is very good, but I feel like his personality is lacking so I never really connected to him. Although he is fantastic.

Ok, I am super happy with the way it turned out. They left pretty much in the order that I wanted themt oo! That never happens, usually I am way off base, but whatevs.

I was very happy to see the way they left too. I wanted Russell to win the whole time.

I'm glad we weren't the only ones who weren't in love with this season. I knew Russell would win, but I just didn't feel the competition like last year. I hope next season is better.

 

what ever happened to Paula Abdul being a special guest judge? Nigel was making a big deal about the empty chair the first few weeks then nothing?

I think Paula was holding out hope that AI would bring her back. Perhaps she'll be around next season since that didn't happen?

I too am happy Russell won!!! I think he is the only contestant this past season that had the kind of personality to draw you in. I was totally going to stop watching with no regrets if he was voted off.

 

OH and did anyone notice this season was all about tricks and lifts? It was more about the power moves than it was about the dancing. (Ballroom in particular) After the 4th major lift i'd lose excitement - too much of a good thing can be bad IMO. Maybe it was just me, maybe it was that they had the hip hop guys to accomodate.

 

Hopefully next season is better...I miss Mia Michaels
