Did you do bridal portraits? If not, do you regret not doing them?

I've been thinking about whether or not I should do them. I don't really have the desire to or see the point(no offense to anyone) but maybe I'm missing something? blush2.gif

If you did do them, what did you use them for?

Just thought about this as we are working out the budget details right now. TIA

Are you not from the South (I see that you live there now)? I'm not and I don't see the point of them -I'm pretty sure that is the only place they do them...but I know if you are from the South they are pretty important so it is really your call

I have never heard of a bridal portraits, but I get the idea.

I didn't do them. But my TTD shoot has a TON of photos that are just me, well I know they took a ton so we'll see when I get them. But I do like having photos of just me. And so does Joe, ha! I don't see the point in doing a whole shoot of just me, but I have plenty of me just before the ceremony and tons on our TTD so that makes up plenty for me.

LOL. I grew up in Texas and my parents are still there. Just last weekend my mom was crying over me not doing bridal portraits. Literally bawling. We did e-pics, I did BD pics and we have 8 hours with our photog on the wedding day for pics. I plan on getting some of just me on the wedding day so I did not see the point of doing another birdal portrait shoot. I feel bad for my mom, but I just don't want to put up a pic of me in the house... I want ones of me and FI! Good luck deciding on what you are going to do!

Yeah, I'm originally from here but I haven't really seen them much. huh.gif The only time I can remember seeing one is at my aunt's house.

I just figured photos before and after the wedding(even though all are not by myself) would be enough but I'm just so tempted by some that I've seen online. cheesy.gif

If I did do them I probably wouldn't do the whole blowing up the picture and displaying it thing, I find it a little weird.

Thanks for the responses everyone! :)

my dad got re-married and his wife (now ex-wife #2) had the bridal portrait done. It was HUGE and on display at their over-the-top wedding. Afterwards she displayed it in their home right as you walked in.

I could never do it.

(no offense to anyone that does.. just my .02)

I, until just now on this forum, had never heard of BD pictures. But EVERYONE I know has done bridal photos. As you can see, I am from Louisiana, born and bred. You put up bridal pics at the reception, most girls take some with hunting or fishing gear to put on the groom's table. You print it for your parents and grandparents. I never realized it was just a southern thing! Then again, if you have ever been to our receptions, you know that we do everything differently.
