Anyone else have a special "Mom & Me" pic from dress shopping?

Thanks! Yes, those flowers were arranged by the resort. They are white lilies, purple irises and yellow roses and a couple of white calla lilies.

Thanks for all the sweet compliments...this is probably my favorite photo out of all of them, and I'm not even wearing a dress in it!

And I know it's a bummer that you didn't get a pic of you & your Mom (since she was busy behind the camera snapping away!), but there's always this: some brides don't have their mother there to share the memories or the experience at all. Not to bring everybody down, but a friend of mine lost her mom to cancer a few years before she was even engaged, and dress shopping was especially painful for her since it highlighted the fact that her mother had passed) so I guess it makes me feel even more grateful that I had my "mommy" with me!

 

Now maybe we should all call our Moms and tell 'em we love them!

you're right about that! it's really why i'm sad i didn't get the pics. i almost lost my mom in a bad auto accident a few years ago and was just so thankful to have her here for my wedding. she also just turned 70 in august, so she's getting up there in age.

 

i'm so happy i have the wedding video. the first time i watched it and saw my dad escorting her to her seat i got seriously all choked up. i know someday it will be very bittersweet to watch.

I wish I had one but I ended up going alone over my lunch break and buying my dress alone.. Thats kinda sad, isn't it? I love your picture though and would love to see others!

What a great post Christie! I don't have one with my mom but yours is super cute. My FMIL actually went with me when I picked up my dress so I'll have to see if there is a picture of us when I get home.

Awww Lisa! Your post is so touching, you're going to make me cry! I'm really happy that you have your wedding on video and that your mom made it through the accident. Christie's right, we are so lucky that we still have our moms and grandmas to take to these special events in our lives.

Thanks again girls, and Kathy -- you're right: Lisa's story made me get all teary-eyed, too! Lisa, I am soooo glad that your Mom pulled through her accident and was there to see what a beatiful bride you made!

 

And dang it -- I feel just awful if I made anyone of you sad that maybe you might not have gotten "dress day shopping" pics, but feel free to post any pics you might have with your moms or the other special women in your lives from your actual wedding day if you'd like! THOSE pics (and of course your videos, too) are what are REALLY SPECIAL in the long run!
