My name is Lisa and I live in Coquitlam, BC... a city just outside of Vancouver.

 

Our wedding will be in 2008 sometime.. no firm date set yet.

 

I would LOVE to get married in Hawaii on the beach, but so far all the prices I have looked at seem to be really expensive. Maui was my first choice but I doubt any guests would come after looking at prices for hotels/flights.

 

I'm going to check into Oahu and see if it's a bit more affordable.. or any other suggestions for nice beachy places that won't cost an arm and a legs for my guests to get there? Any suggestions appreciated!

Hey, welcome! I'm new here, too! Congrats on the engagement! This forum is so helpful....have you looked into Mexico beaches? Might be a bit less expensive than Hawaii. Although Hawaii is definitely more beautiful!

Welcome! I've never been to Hawaii, but i hear it's amazing. And if that's where you want your wedding, then I think you'll be surprised how many people would travel there.

Welcome to the forum Lisa! I don't know much at all about Hawaii but when I first joined this forum, my FI and I thought we were going to be marrying in the Bahamas but after getting more ideas off this forum and looking up pictures and locations, we decided on Los Cabos, MX, which all in all is relatively affordable compared to some other locations. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

Welcome to the forum!! Hawaii looks gorgeous but it is very pricey and there are no all inclusive resorts. I think that is a really great thing to look for if you want to keep the price down. Have you thought about Mexico? Or the DR?
