Budget - how much is too much?

you have to try to stay within your means... I mean its supposed to be a (generally) more cost effective option than a wedding at home. You should prioritize what is important to you to splurge on, like a nice dress or good photog, and save money on smaller things like save the dates and invitations by way of DIY. The location also plays a big role, because somewhere like Cuba is going to be easier on the wallet tha the Turks & Caicos... its all up to you, no amount is too much or too little!

Everything costs so much! I am from NY so everything here is mega $$$, and while it is less than home the destination wedding is still going to cost a lot. If we had the no frills package with no guests it would be cheap, but the flowers are expensive, favors are expensive, and photographers are SOOO expensive! I want good pics more than anything, but FI doesn't really care about that so I said I would pay to save complaints, lol! just sit with your FI and figure out what is important to both of you and then negotiate something realistic.
