Hurricane Jimena has passed and all is set for our Wedding at the Casa Dorada on Sunday. I never stressed out one bit because I just knew things were going to work out...plus we were keeping tabs on the doppler radar obsessivly...Forecast calls for beautiful skies by Friday and upper 80's with sunshine on Sunday. So happy that it did not cause major destruction. We only had 4 guests cancel because they were set to arrive on Monday 8/31 and that would not have been fun at all. But other than that..all is on track and we are looking forward to a beautiful day. YAY!!

Our hotel just sent us this press release.

LOS CABOS RESORTS OPEN FOR BUSINESS AS HURRICANE

JIMENA BYPASSES DESTINATION

Los Cabos, Mexico (September 2, 2009) - The Los Cabos Convention &

Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce today that the destination was spared

significant impact from Hurricane Jimena. Hotels and resorts are fully

operational and all tourism services throughout Los Cabos have resumed today.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Jimena was

officially downgraded to Category 2 status overnight as it traveled in a

northwest direction away from Los Cabos. Additionally, the Mexican

government has discontinued the hurricane warning for the entire southern part

of the Baja California peninsula, the location of the resort destination. Forecasters

predict that Jimena will continue to weaken as it moves inland.

From the beginning, the Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau was

well prepared for the approach of Hurricane Jimena. The municipality of Los

Cabos did not lose electricity throughout the duration of the storm and there

have been no reports of injuries. Additionally, the San Jose del Cabo

International Airport (SJD) has re-opened after flight operations were

temporarily suspended yesterday as a precautionary measure. The Port of Los

Cabos is scheduled to re-open today after 12:00PM MST.

“While we were well prepared for the storm, we are obviously very

relieved that Hurricane Jimena passed us by,” says Gonzalo Franyutti, President

of the Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau, “Now our guests can resume

their vacations and our fine resorts services without further concern.”

Known for it’s world-class fishing, championship golf courses, luxurious

spas, exciting eco-adventure, endless array of water sports and much more, Los

Cabos has been experiencing a rise in demand in recent weeks as the economy

begins to show signs of recovery and is expecting to be the destination of choice

for the upcoming fall and winter travel season. For more information on Los

Cabos, please visit the official website at Los Cabos - Leave It All Behind.
