Hi Yesther!

I was lucky b/c my travel agent is my sister...we are getting for every 8 people booked 1 person goes free...through Sunquest which I had to jump on cause it's usually 1 in 16 people going free...I don't know maybe shop around...get quote from multiple travel agencies. My sister told me to becuse some travel egancies just have it in better with travel suppliers so they give better deals! We obviously ended up booking with my sister though...

Sure...its the Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya. Might find it under Aventura Cove Palace too as they recently split into a 1/2 family friendly 1/2 adults only resort.

The resort itself wasn't as cheap as we would've liked for our guests but since they are part of the Palace chain, guests could stay at any of the Palace resorts in Cancun or the Riviera Maya and not have to get a day pass for the wedding and get free transportation to and from their resort to ours.

Thank you everyone for your information!!!! It's so helpful and I'm glad to hear other people's experiences with resorts and TAs. Now, if only my sister was an agent like flipflop's! :)

I'm doing my wedding at Barcelo Maya Palace, and I'm hoping I can see if other people are getting perks etc and trying to do some crazy internet researching as well!

I love that resort!! BMP and ASP were my top 2 picks and i had a hard time choosing but in the end I went with ASP because they offered a free wedding package.

Good luck planning, your guests are going to love it!!

PS-are you planning on using an outside photographer? I think I recently read a thread that they don't allow this anymore so I would definitely do the research!!

I was told by my TA that Sunwing no longer offers any Freebies... the only thing we received as Freebies (still appreciative but...) is a week long upgraded room for the Bride & Groom, pre-check in as a group as well as a "free wedding package" ($400 notary fees) because we booked over 20 guests.

I feel like most of you that we should have been entitled to trip deals, we have 38 guests booked. My TA has not been helpful at all, I'm just grateful that the wedding coordinator in Cuba has been amazing... it's the only thing giving me hope that it's all going to work itself out.

I'm not using an outsider photographer. We have some photogs that are coming (friends and fam) and are fine using the resort photographer.

Thanks again to everyone for the information. We are trying now to see if Barcelo offers something for us if we book a certain number of guests...wish me luck!

We are with Sunquest and seem to have gotten a great deal!

With every 10 people that book we get 1 freebie.

So far we have 3 freebies so myself, and my FI trip is free, along with his neice.

Also we get $250 for Sunquests online E-Boutique to spend on whatever we want.

We also get room upgrades and I believe a $500 travel vochur for a return trip!

We're quite pleased!

We got 1 in 12 go free, you just pay the taxes. We've also been upgraded to the Honeymoon Suite (subject to availability, so we'll see if it actually happens) and 'Elite' status on the flight - I think that means extra baggage, priority boarding, etc.

We're also trying to get our entire group upgraded to preferred service at the resort.

I originally dealt with DW.com, but decided to go with a local TA instead because I heard they are not TICO insured (Ontario travel insurance)...
