You're gonna LOVE being a part of this amazing forum!!!

My best advice as you start down the road to your wedding day would be just to take your time and do lots of research before you book or buy anything (resort, dress, flowers, you name it!) and make sure it's all that you've envisioned for your BIG DAY!

And that's where this phenomenal site comes in: BDW has proven to be invaluable in my planning, and it's comforting to know that there are other brides and grooms out there experiencing the same highs and lows during their planning process...a friend is always just on the other side of your computer screen!

CONGRATULATIONS and Welcome to BDW...it's a wedding-planning heaven!

Susan,

Congrats! I visited the Fairmont in Wailea and met with the WC and she was fantastic. She was kind, helpful and full of suggestions (which I needed). Although I decided on the Marriott Wailea, the ceremony site and reception sites at the Fairmont were beautiful. The ceremony site was near the water which I loved.

I only wandered around the Grand Wailea, and didn't meet with their WC or see the wedding sites, but everything there is amazing.

My only advice is to research the locations on the grounds they offer to determine if they would accommodate your group. I only have 25 people attending, and the spot I loved at the Fairmont for my reception (that was closest to the ocean) was meant for a larger group (and had a higher $$$ food/beverage minimum than I was willing to pay with such a small group). I realized very quickly that each resort has a number of options for ceremony sites and reception sites, but the sites are meant to accommodate different sized groups.

Hope that helps! I LOVE this forum and couldn't plan my Maui wedding w/o it!!
