Sand Dollar Ornaments/Favours - Opinion Requested

OMG I truly love this idea. I've been researching ornament favors and they are way too expensive. But this would work great. And one of my frineds who would have been a bm but couldn't go has the most beautiful handwritng. I'm sure I could get her to do them. Now I just have to find sand dollars (can't afford a trip to the bahamas to pick them). Could I pick them from a beach at home you think?

Thanks for the advice about what to write on them.  I think it is a good idea to only write the place and date on the actual sand dollar and their names on a tag.  Great idea!
