She is great, so sweet, reasonable prices and in Queens. We are booked for Feb. 1, a friend and I are doing them the same say and getting our makeup done by her referral who did my SIL's makeup for her wedding and is also AMAZING!
Thanks, I contacted her- she's very reasonable. Not to mention a 20 minute car ride away.

Hello ladies!!! I have my first fitting at Pronovias this weekend. I was wondering if any of you know of a great tailor in the city. I am hoping and have all of my toes and fingers crossed to slide into my dress and not need any major alterations. I know I will need a bustle though. If all I need is a bustle, I can't justify paying almost $600 just for a bustle!!! If I can find a GOOD tailor and pay half of that I am game. Any suggestions?

You are so right! In my mind haze I just looked in my folder of inspiration pics and low and behold I have the tailors cut out. Thanks for tweaking my memory :)

Hi Ladies,

I love this thread. Okay...I THINK I have found my dress at RK Bridal. Actually...I saw three dresses there that I really love. I just want to make sure that I have covered all of the bases before pulling the trigger. I've been to RKBridal, Kleinfeld's (sample sale), Bridal Reflections and David's.

I am looking for a dress that is under $1,500 since I have found one that I absolutely love for under $1,000 at RK. Am I missing any moderately priced Bridal shops in New York or New Jersey? Someone mentioned a shop in New Jersey that sells dresses at much less than they are at more expensive stores like Kleinfeld. Does anyone have a clue as to what store this could be? I have a friend working on trying to find out.

Also....I need a shop that has plus sized samples. It's just too hard to "imagine" what you will look like on your wedding day while holding up a size 10 dress when you need a size 20!! BTW....I think that a shop that caters ONLY to plus-sized brides would be a fantastic business venture!! I read here where one such shop is located in the midwest.

Anyway...here is the dress that is leading the pack so far...I love it!!

I don't know about the plus sizes, but a few stores I went to are close to the city on Long Island. Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook, Bridal Center in Lynbrook, Lilette's in Bellmore and where I got mine...Elena Bridal in Merrick.

RK was a little much for me, my consultant was a mess and didn't listen to a word I said. I am sooo glad that you had a good experience.

Good luck, it's a pretty dress.
