Welcome to the forum! If your group consists of all adults, I find that adults only resorts seems to be more intimate and also very nice. There are great ones in Mexico, DR and Jamaica. Sandals/Breezes resorts is King in Jamaica.

Congrats! I would suggest looking in the Jamaica forum. I noticed that a lot of brides are getting married at Riu, but there are plenty of others as well. I was stressed with picking a resort as well, so I decided on an off resort wedding for various reasons, among those being so that our guests can pick from several cheaper options of staying wherever they like and don't have to be tied down to staying at our resort (this is our honeymoon too so we want to hang out with everyone for a few days but then not have to worry about running into them all)

congratulations. I just started planning as well and the forum is helpful. One thing about all the places I looked at in the Dominican Republic is that the ceremony had to be performed in Spanish and then translated into whatever language you want.
