$300 Deposit/person??

Mine was $300 pp too, but I got them to break it down into 2 payments of $150 pp over a 3 month spread so that guests weren't pressured to put that much money down at once...

 

but the balance of our trip is due later this year and we're not even going until late April! (this is the part I really didn't like!)

Depending on how much the total of the package is, and if it is airfare and hotel-- $300 is right in line with what we have paid before.

ours started out as $250, but we got the TA to bring it down to $150... all you can do is ask, and the worst they can say is no!

Well after reading this I got a BARGAIN! Originally my TA asked for $500 pp when I asked why it was so much she explained that to confirm the flight you have to do an instant purchase in our case the flight cost is $390. However, if my guests wanted to wait on the flight they could book the hotel now with $50/pp and make payments until it's paid off. Since our wedding isn't until May 1st a lot of our guests have opted for this option and wait till the beginning of the year to purchase their flights.

Mine was 200 pp but I decided not to reserve the rooms ahead of time because i was not sure how many ppl would be coming, and for how long. I have mixed feelings about it because the rm rates are getting higher as January is high season, but everyone has told me not to worry about it . People will sort themselves out as I have alternative much cheaper resort next door for late bookers.
