1. 4pm - Ceremony - 30mins.

2. 4:30pm - Cocktail reception - should we do the Champagne Toast here?

3. 5:30pm - Reception Start

  • Bridal Party entrance, then Bride & Groom
  • Couple's first Dance
  • Father and Daughter Dance
  • Mother and Son Dance
  • Cake cutting - want to do this early, so as to not interrupt the party later & before everyone gets too tipsy!
  • Dinner Blessing
  • Dinner reception - First course, then BM & MOH speeches, While serving dessert - Bride & Groom Thank you Speech (serve the dessert included in package along with wedding cake)
  • Dance time

We aren't doing the garter/bouquet thing.

Just wanted to say that we used this timeline and it was perfect! We got all the formal stuff in, and then everyone could eat, drink, and party! It left us with about 2 - 2.5hrs of dancing time, start to finish 4pm - 9:30pm :)

These time lines and the feedback that goes with them is awesome!!
Just wondering about length of receptions....I know most end around 10ish (given that many resorts only allow 4hrs or so for the formal reception), but compared to a wedding done at home, that seems awfully early. What did you ladies find in that department? Too early/not enough time? Or did the party continue elsewhere when the "formal" reception had finished?

I'm sure you were all exhausted by 10ish anyway lol (I know I will be) but I just can't picture my friends/family (bit of a rowdy bunch...) wanting to call it quits at that time!! haha

Any tips or feedback?

Thanks again everyone!

Kat

Ours ended around 9:30pm. We then transferred the party to an outdoor bar at our resort. We didn't last long, but I know those that stayed out went out on 5th Avenue and partied the night away, lol.
