My fiance and I just finished our Invitations.. it needs to be printed and hopefully sent by next week. We are expecting about 60 guests. We are having a bigger turn out than we expected. I am not complaining I am quite excited.

I am just really nervous. The communication seems to be ok. I email my WC questions she responds in a week then I send her more questions. I feel like there is soo much to decide and since I am not in this industry I am becoming overwhelmed. Maybe I am just crazy, I dont know!

Jo&delo: Good luck with everythign. Cannot wait to hear about it!!
Don't worry about it! Your day will be awesome! NO STRESS!!! I have been getting responses back in a week too. So I try to send my long list back every time she responds to me. My wedding is about a week before yours so I will let you know how it went. :-) 60 people that is great! what are you doing for your reception?

Also to the brides who are having your wedding in the summer. Have you noticed that plane tickets have jumped sky high. I have about 15 guest that haven't gotten their plane tickets yet. One of my guest purchased a ticket out of D.C. the other day for $700.00! I can't believe it. I heard the ticket prices were going down in April for the summer. Anyone heard of this? If so, I would like to tell guest to wait closer to our date of the wedding to buy a ticket.

Finding this forum has eased my worries just a little bit!

Plus I think I got lucky with my WC….I can send her a long list of questions and she will usually respond within the same day, or the next day. She has been wonderful!!!

I am only 57 days away from saying “I Do†and I am SO excited!

I am slowly working on my vows…it has proven to be a little harder than I thought.

I ordered lots of stuff in the last week, so I will be excited to check the mail everyday! I am especially excited about the Palm Hand Fans we ordered and got in the mail last night. I found them for a $1 per-fan, and they are great! With a May 21st wedding, I wanted my guests to have something to keep them a little cooler! We are going to wrap the handle in ribbon and put a thank you tag on it. I asked the WC if we could put them on the chair prior to the wedding starting, and she said that was fine. We also have a guest book, and she said she would request a small table to put at the entrance of the gazebo.

I am getting so excited!

Jo&delo good luck! Canâ€t wait to hear your review and see you pictures!!!

We're doing the Amber package too in July. I would love to see your pictures when you get back to see how the Amber package turns out.

I just picked a date for my wedding a couple weeks ago & at that time, you could get flights for $300 (incl taxes). I chose the dates partially based on airfare prices. Now it's $700! Luckily I booked 20 seats at a group rate around $400. But all of those tickets are now accounted for, & I'm sure the airfare prices are going to dissuade quite a few of my potential guests from going. I keep hearing about summer airfare pricing wars, but I have seen no evidence of it!

This is not an exact comparison....but Todd and I booked our rountrip tikets to Cancun from Denver back in October 2009. At that time we paid $584 TOTAL.....that included both of our roundtrip tickets together. THEN, we decided that my 9 year old daughter should go. At first she was going to stay at home, but long story short - she is going and it is all good. First we booked her flight coming back from Canun because we knew she would be coming home with us. However, we didn't book her flight TO cancun since we planned for her to come down with my sister in law. After weeks of waiting we found out that they will be flying down on the same day as us! And they STILL haven't booked yet. Sheesh! So we booked her flight down to Cancun just a few weeks ago.

Basically.....her ticket al together cost us something like $725. Our tickets together were $528! What is WRONG with that picture! LOL Ultimately we wished we would have booked her ticket at the same time as us....but it just goes to show you how much the airfares have gone up in the past months.

Last July which was a year before my wedding, flights were $ 200 round trip. We told EVERYONE. My parents were the ones who had listened and booked their flights.. We constantly kept and eye our for flights.. By Sept the flights went somewhat up..By Oct -Jan the flights were very high. As soon as Jan hit the flights began to drop. But yet again by the end of FEB. flights went up and all i keep seeing is the prices are going up. I do think they will drop again. Not sure how much. My fiance and I booked in Dec. And when the prices dropped in Jan. we called Continental and had them adjust the price!!

We have kept an eye out the entire time and have been constantly telling our guests. Now those who haven't booked are complaining. IDK what to say, but I told you so.

My reception is outdoors!! So is my Ceremony.

Can someone clarify this for me. We are expecting 60 guests. At that point we will qualify for the unlimited events. What exactly does that meanhuh.gif

Also, I arranged to have a Rehearsal dinner and I waned a welcome dinner, but my WC said she cannot reserve two??

It is a vacation for my guests so I do not want to give them an itinerary before or after our wedding, but I do want to give them the option of joining us at the restaurants etc, but i doubt they will accommodate for the amount of guests i have. Any suggestions?

The only thing I can answer is about the 2 reservations. IF you signed a group contract and have enough rooms booked you should qualify for the free events. There has been some back adn forth as to WHO qualifies for free events.....and it seems to come down to either having a group contract signed with MP or with a TA who will honor the free incentives.

So IF you qualify for free events you should have no problem with getting welcome dinner, reception, cocktail hour and anything else you want. HOWEVER, if you do not qualify and went with the Free package....then all you get is the ONE reservation for up to 35 people in one of the restaurants.

I hope this helps. Let us know what you find out!

It is my understanding that to qualify for the unlimited events make sure you have 75 nights or 25 rooms booked to qualify. What I found out is that if you have 6 people in a room that only counts as one room and how many nights they are staying is not counted 6 times. With this make sure they know to give you and your FI, 7 nights for free. That was in our contract with MP.

The unlimited events means that you can have any private event you want without having to pay any additional surcharge for it (except for beach and rooftop terraces with no elevator access). For example, for a private wedding dinner it would normally cost $400.00/per table of 10. You are exempt from this. I told my wedding coordinator that I will qualify for the free events. So we scheduled to have a rehearsal luncheon (regular reservation), Welcome Dinner on one of the Terraces with food and drinks at no additional cost in addition to my wedding reception and cocktail hour. I even used the free dinner you get with the complimentary package for up to 35 as a reservation for a surprise birthday party for one of my cousins that turns 40 two days before the wedding. Let your WC know that you qualify for the free events. Hope this helps answer your question.
