Yeah, the truth is, the dynamic between my mom and I is an odd one. She originally was looking at two weeks and I told her we would love to have her, so I don't think it is the in the way issue...she also mentioned that my step dad wondered what he would do while at our house, on top of it they always talk about how they don't like large cities and don't understand how we could enjoy living in one. I think she is still upset I moved here and she has always felt that I didn't need her or would emphasize my independence, it's really a long story, and this isn't the appropriate forum to get into it. She also keeps talking about how upset she is not to be able to live near the baby.

 

But anyways, sorry for the rant and rambles, just needed to get it out. Thanks for your support and thoughts, it's nice to get to share and get it off my chest

Tricia, I've been meaning to ask you -- what part of Kansas City do you live in? My parents live there, way on the north end.

We live about 20 blocks south of the plaza, if you're familiar with that area. We bought a house here about a year ago. Before that we lived downtown for several years. Which is where we met...ahhh. So where are you originally from? US or Canada?

Sabrina-- I can't imagine how you are feeling. I would hate to not see my mom all the time. She drives me crazy because she is always rubbing my tummy and talking to her grandchild, but I appreciate the fact that she is close by to do it. Talk to them and let them know you want them to stay longer.

 

Krista- 10 DAYS!!!! Sooooo exciting!!! Do you have major butterflies and checking over lists of things that you can't forget??

 

 

Teshy- Are you starting to get the bump going yet??

Hi ladies!!!

 

9 DAYS!!!! WHOA!!! I haven't started having butterflies yet, but I think the weekend before I go is when I will start to double check lists, etc. I haven't started packing yet OOPS! I guess I should get on that! I have the suitcases pulled out and everything is piled in the corner in my room (I've been slowly putting more and more stuff there - it's my "wedding" corner LOL), so I don't think packing will be too bad.

 

I think we nailed down our AHR venue, and S and I are going to look at it this aft. I hope it works out! And I won a free photography package for our AHR! How awesome is that? I never expected to win, just came across it on a local photographers website, and entered, and boom! We won! And my coworker is making our cake as our present (she makes gorgeous cakes!). I've been putting together my list of songs for the AHR for the dance, and I've got 5 hours worth, but I think I need more

 

Ladies, I haven't seen any preggers pics yet!! I want baby belly pics please!!! I want to have a baby so bad, but I can't right now, so I need to live vicariously through you!!

I'm originally from Michigan (Detroit area). My parents moved to Kansas City about 4 years ago, when my dad took a new job. I've lived in Alberta for not quite 3 years. I moved up here to be with my now-hubby.

Brooke -- I have a tiny bump. It kind of looks like I've just had one too many Big Macs or something. I usually have a fairly flat tummy, so I noticed right away when my waistline started expanding. My pants are all snug, but I'm trying to get more use out of them. Thank goodness for loose tops and empire-waist dresses!

Brooke- How was the festival that you went to? Looks fun, but you are one brave lady for spending the weekend around people that are drinking and having to be totally sober!! I don't think I could do it.

 

Chris- How is everything going with you? Are you having any symptoms? Are you talking really loudly on your work phone about your pregnancy, while you co-worker listens to all the deets??

 

Sabrina- So how far along are you? Didn't you say that you have a website that we can see your baby bump?

 

Ali- How was Hawaii?? Your pictures looked gorgeous! I'm so jealous that you got to return to a beach!! I'm anxiously waiting to return. So I read that you had a scary flight??

Sorry I have been MIA for a week or two, life has been a little crazy... I have been working tons and trying to do projects around the house. All your baby stories are so cute, BTW Brooke you looked amazing in the photos on facebook.

 

Sabrina being without your family totally sucks. My mother had passed away a few years before my son was born and I know that really bothered me... To have your mom choosing to only spend a very short time with you and the baby must hurt. Yeah I agree with you, one would think that she'd want to be there soaking up that smell of beautiful baby and you having to fight to get your hands back on the little one. I read into things, " my guess is the hubby didn't want to spend that much time at your place and is being very selfish and pressuring your mom into cutting it short". Thats just Sue's two cents worth. Don't let that take away from your joy!!!!

Krista your probably gone by now "enjoy every second of your wedding day", Sending you tons of love and best wishes girlie"..... PS you'll have your baby soon enough girl... Just follow the plan you have and no regrets.

Well my lovelies "the step daughter is gone for 3 weeks... Oh yes!!! Doing a Dance!!!! Mark and I are just loving it.

Hey guys! Just thought I'd pop in and say hello. I have been kind of laying low these days. Nothing new to report. Nothing good anyway. My situation is still the same made worse by my inability to well... go to the bathroom. I have made good friends with Mr. Prune juice. *sigh I just pray everything is fine, that this will stop, and I'll get to enjoy my pregnancy.

 

Sabrina- I am a little late and you already said you are over it, but I totally understand where you are coming from re. your mom's visit. At least she is coming. I think we just have to focus on the positive. My parents will never come for Christmas ever they told me because it's too cold here. Selfish much? They do visit and are coming this summer again. It will be their third time in 6 years.

 

Susie- nice to hear from you again! We always love hearing your stories, don't disappear! We've already lost a few on this board.

 

Krista- not long now!! You must be getting nervous! Don't stress. Just try to enjoy this time as much as you possibly can.

 

Brooke- loved the belly pic on Facebook, sexy mama!

 

Ali- welcome back from Paradise!!! Hope you had an awesome trip. We want to hear all about it.
