February 2010 brides

Okay...frustrated moment here. There have been issues btw FI and his brother for about 8 months. Partly due to brother (he is an adult) but in large part due to the SIL. I was friends with her once upon a time, but am now aware of some serious deceit, self centred, mean things she has done and is taking part in....we won't even go into whether or not she has been faithful (which her husband is unaware of). FI and his brother have been best friends all their lives - unitl 8 months ago. So recently the two boys have been talking - which is fantastic and I hope they can work things out.

 

So onto the latest....FI just found out he needs some dental work done. Right away and we leave in two weeks. Thing is with his work he has no coverage, so when we get married he will go on mine and voila - all is good. Here is the catch - the fun insurance company says if we bring in our marriage cert within 30 days of getting married he is covered 100% instantly. After 30 days there are all sorts of restrictions that go into effect for one year Are you kidding...if we do it fast no problem, but after 30 days there are restrictions?

 

So now I am worried because we were doing everything in Mexico and most people are not getting their marriage certs until a couple months later. If we walk away with one copy and have to wait for a certified copy, will that work? Do we even get a copy or do we have to wait? We are talking about going out and getting married legally here right away because of it (I know, romantic, but Mexico is still my wedding day, so I am not sweating that). The big pisser....now FI thinks this is a good idea because his brother can be the witness? Well ladies that did not go over well.

 

I feel like every step of this has been "is this going to piss so and so off". I do not give a rats butt about them and am fed up with the amount they have tainted this whole experience...it has been worse for FI obviously, but these two are refusing to come to the wedding in Mexico (they would be the ones who accused us of planning it there just so they could not come) and they refuse to come to the AHR (which is crushing my FI). Does he seriously think that these people will be out witnesses at a secret wedding ceremony?

 

Am I being a complete bee-atch here? I would rather pay the money for the dental work and can the AHR than have his brother be a witness. I know FI is in a crappy spot - and we both see where the other is coming from....we have talked about this, but I have changed wedding dates, not been able to even tell people we were engaged for over a month, screened information going out and on what time table - all to avoid them getting upset? I am so fed up that there is no way they are coming anywhere near my wedding day. If they want to get on a plane, fine, but otherwise - pound sand.

 

Sorry - that is a long vent, but I am just steaming over this......

Raykel- Sorry to hear about all of the wedding stresses. Call the insurance company and explain the situation and see what they say. If its a huge problem remarry back in the states when you get back (...don't know if thats legal??!) Wow sorry I am no help here at all.

Hi girls!! I have solved the hair drama! I decided to use HIGHLY recommended Suzanne Morel to do my hair and makeup. U sent them inspiration pics and I feel confident I will look fabulous on my wedding day... no more sobbing for me!!!

 

My friend that was supposed to come to do my hair decided to give me a "hair" gift She will create human clip in hair extensions for me for free..this is a savings!! Those things cost from 200-600 depending on who you get to do them...SCORE! SHe will do my hair the day before I leave so that I am cute for my Mexico debut

Raykel.. I completely agree with you. I wouldn't want them as a witness either.. You have my support sista! I say run down to the court house and get hitched. They can get a security guard to be the witness! This way it is not so personal you didn't want to think of it as your real day..so I wouldn't involve anyone from the family..just my two cents. we all support you.

 

Brooke.. I like the flowers.. what are your wedding colors?

raykel,you sound soo busy lately i love it lol.the flower girl dress sounds really cute.totally get you on the legal day thing i think you have mentioned the bil problem before.first of all my understanding is that you get a copy of your marriage certificate to bring home and im sure that will be enough for insurance?is it your bil wanting the legal day or bil?its tricky because you dont want to appear the bitch in this (to them) but i would listen to fi and almost agree to everything he says.will you even have time to arrange a legal day?if you leave it to him to arrange it will never get done.like you say if they were travelling with you it wouldnt be soo bad!if it comes to it i would just put the tears on and explain to fi you really want your wedding day in mexico and that has been your plan all along.can you arrange to do something special with bil before you go?so then fi will think your doing something to make them part of it?god why do they do this to us?

well im up at the crack of dawn this morning double checking the packing list to make sure i have everything.constant butterflies.i just need to keep it together for the family send off tonight cause my mum is now starting to feel it and obviously i dont want her upset before i go.ive found out why her and my sis hasnt been soo excited for me,they think my wedding day is ahr because thats where everyone will be?now they know its not theyve been playing ball lol.

Timberly - yeah! That is wonderful about the hair and makeup. You are going to be stunning:) LOL...I am tired and look at the first photo you post....I think "Wow...that is a great photo of you and FI"...then I look closer and am like wait that looks like Eddie Murphy and that is not Timberly....ah moments of dumbness!

 

Shells- it is not BIL that wants the legal day, in fact I don't think he has any idea. Just FI who mentioned them being witnesses. Yeah because I want people pretty much not speaking with us at all to be our witnesses. Nope...I don't even care at this point if they think poorly of me....they will not be there if we have to do a quickie legal thing here.

 

Thanks for the info on the marriage certificate...that is what i think too, but I wish the WC would get back to me and confirm! Then I could print the dang programs and get them done...I don't want to do that and then change them!

 

Svet...I was on a rant last night and forgot to comment...I agree if you need to vent:) That would be annoying too. Same goes Brooke - seriously why are the WC ansering all the emails from brides several months away when you leave in the immediate future! I would be annoyed too.

Deep breaths girls - don't let any one ruin it this close for you. We picked up all our packages today and we're going to give them out. I was looking at them just making sure everything was okay and saw that the FSIL wants a room as far away from the group as they can HA HA HA HA HA oh what-ever!! I probably should have thought of that and requested it for them myself ha ha ha ha oh I'm being mean now.

Oh Krista I requested that for myself at the beginning! I even emailed my TA again today about it. I don't want to be sharing walls with anyone I know or am related to!!!!! lol
