Wow! I can't even imagine going through the things you have been over the last month (and longer!!). I absolutely feel sympathy for you as we're in the middle of an argument with my FIL's at the moment, although nothing as serious as your own situation.

I think that despite some of your FI's more passive actions/behaviour regarding his parents, his willingness to continuously work through this with you as a couple shows that he really does care for you and want a future with you! I hope for your sake that his parents don't bother coming to Jamaica at all and that you get the beautiful wedding that you've dreamed of (pre-outlaws!). Take strength in knowing that despite all their negativity, you'll be surrounded by your parents and friends who truly do love and appreciate you and will stand by you in support.

My only advice is that if the outlaws do end up coming, I would contact your WC as soon as you find out and make sure (she) are aware of the situation. It might be worthwhile to find out if the officiant should know ahead of time as well so that if, in some terrifying moment, they try to interrupt your ceremony then you have a plan of action in place already. I think the outlaws have proven to only be reliable in their awful behaviour so if you can take a few preventative steps to find a small piece of your own sanity then I think it's well worth it.

Please, please enjoy your special day and know that you've got a whole lot of us here cheering you on!

The WC & GM of the resort already know the situation....just in case! I told them so that there were no suprises the day of. It has been such a nightmare that I am glad it is finally almost over. We are all getting excited to leave. We fly to Jamaica this Saturday & will have a few days to hopefully relax and enjoy the island.

I will let you all know how it goes! Wish me luck!

I'm glad to hear FI is stepping up... don't worry about it too much!! I know that's hard, but worrying too much is going to ruin your special day! They are obviously very self-centered, egotistical people who need a reality check!! Good job on alerting w/c and GM JUST IN CASE... god almighty I can't even imagine!! My heart goes out to you, keep us posted on how it goes. HAVE FUN!!

Oh...my...God...

I was just reading your turmoil and I must say you have some SERIOUS PATIENCE to deal with that sh*t. I had to deal with some crap from my FI's parents but nothing like what you described. I would've had a coniption! I mean, I would have gotten seriously GHETTO on my MIL and FIL if they pulled that crap -- I mean, it would hit the news.jerry.gifjerry.gif

Anger set aside, your FH has to deal with it. It sounds like he is trying his best as it is really hard to be so torn between your parents and your spouse, but seriously, he has to protect you and your well-being mentally, and emotionally. He can't allow his parents to talk bad about you or disrespect you AT ALL.

My FH and I had to fight for each other with our parents. When my mom expressed dislike and was putting up pictures of my ex around the home I had to put her in her place and tell her that is not acceptable. When his parents were telling me not to call him and hanging up on me, FH had to put them in their place. If neither of us did that, we would not be together because marriage is already hard when things are going well and you don't want that added stress.

Anyway, definately keep us posted! Wishing you all the best for your wedding and, more importantly, your marriage.
