A lot of resort planners are so busy that they get back to you in order of preference. I didn't want to keep bothering my coordinator- especially when we were a year away from the wedding so I send periodic emails with list of questions( maybe once a month- every other month). I've been doing research about DW's and have looked at albums of couples who have had their wedding at my resort. I've just been compiling my ideas and sent an email with some of my requests for the first time last week( wedding is now 9 months away) to our coordinator.

So even though you may not get a quick response or things won't be finalized until 1-2 months before, you can still touch base with her periodically if you have any concerns or questions.

BTW, when is your wedding? I'm also getting married in Aruba next summer- July 23. My FI and I have also never been to the island. We will be there for the first time for our wedding!

i noticed some brides in this post who were to be married at the RIU in 2010....congrats!  Any feedback for the newly engaged who are still planning?  thinking of aruba in summer 2012, but so overwhelmed with where to start.  any feedback would be appreciated!  thanks!

I am also looking into various resorts in Aruba for July 2012... I think our top choices are the Riu Palace or the Renaissance....  Any tips?

I spent a week at Riu Palace in Aruba last January...Actually exactly one year....would highly recomend!

We were not there for a wedding just vacation however we saw three different ones while we were there.  We actually choose to get married at the Riu Ochos Rios because we loved our visit to the Riu Palace so much

I am an Aruba bride. Getting married on June 11th at the Manchebo Beach Resort. I found it to be great for our budget and love the location!
