So I have had it in my head to have program fans on every seat. I was going to buy straw fans but then found some cute paper DIY fans that I was all excited about. I was talking to my MOH yesterday and I think she thinks it is stupid. She sadi she "Will keep an open mind" What does that mean? I feel she hates everything I do!!! What are your thoughts? Do I need them at all??

The fans are very cute!

For some reason the program was probably my least favorite part about the whole planning process... mostly due to me overanalyzing the proper verbiage, format etc! I had planned on attaching programs to palm leaf fans, but ended up scrapping them at the last minute. We had a simple ceremony so there wasn't much to say, plus I figured with most guests arriving 2-3 days before the wedding, everyone would already know the bridal party. So we just ended up doing the fans wrapped in ribbon for each chair. Saved a few bucks (and my sanity) in the process and I don't think anyone missed them.

Programs are a nice touch, but I wouldn't call them a necessity. Just wanted to throw that option out there too :)

My wedding is still along way off but I was also looking into different fans - it will be very hot in Mexico in July. There are a few options - the straw fans, the paper "fan out" fans, or the fans that are a program on a "stick" . Have you seen those? I am not sure which one I like either... The stick ones are simple and plain and look pretty easy. The straw ones are obviously pre made and wont require too much computer/printing work. The fan out ones are so original - I think I am leaning to these but I dont know how much energy I will have after I make the STD boarding passes, passport invitations and everything else....

You could try making one and see how you like it. Maybe your MIL will like it once she holds it in her hand (with her name on it) :)

I think they are totally cute !! I may also steal the idea. I always find churches to be kind of stuffy. I have often fanned myself with the regular programs !! My vote is go for it!! It's your day not your MOH's.

Good Luck!
