Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Hi here is the wording from my invitation. Hope it helps. I sent it out in an "invitation in a bottle" invitationinabottle.com--they are really cute and your invitees will love them. "Paradise found" Walking on the beach together hand in hand we will be forever. With joy in our hearts, Leigh & Dan invite you to share the sun, sea and memories of a wedding ceremony when they exchange marriage vows ......(date, time, location etc) we also put the travel agents name and contact info at the bottom of the page. Also put in quotes "Your presence is your present" this way the guests do not feel obligated to also buy us a gift after spending money to come to our wedding in another country!!

Hey carinagirl, you should check out the etiquette section regarding tipping. Here's a good thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...dinator-52354/

My personal thoughts are that it depends on the WC, and I also think on how much "work" you are as a bride, lol. I mean if you book your date and then basically just show up and get married, I might tip a little if all goes well, but if you have sent Ana a million emails and have lots of requests, and she does a great job answering your questions and making your day amazing, then I would say a decent size tip is in order if you can swing it. Just a nice way to say thank you I think :)

Also, just curious, who are you using for a DJ? Or is this someone coming with your group from home?

Hi All,

I noticed on facebook that Rod had posted a message saying that the resort reads all of the reviews and takes them very seriously. So I went ahead and sent him a message on FB inquiring about the privacy complaints for the wedding location.

Here is his response:

They're working extremely hard to re-organize the layout of the beach facilities so we have a private area. I would not worry honestly, the weddings I have seen on property were incredible and we've have very positive feedback!

Anyhow, for all that it is worth, I hope he is right!

Hey guys,

Just wondering if any of you had thought of having a signature drink at your reception or cocktail hour? I saw some really cool photos of a wedding where the guests were all drinking this bright blue drink. It looked so cool! Anyhow, I sent an email to Ana asking if the resort has a signature drink. I'm sure most of my guests would prefer wine or something a little less crazy, but I think it would be fun to start them off with this.

Hi Nadia - am from Calgary too, getting married a month behind you :)

has anyone looked into firedancers or fireworks at DRC? I am now thinking our DJ budget might go towards just renting out speakers for an ipod and I might use the money for that instead, although I guess some DJs do 'cold fireworks' and that would be neat too
