We got married the day before we left at the courthouse. We just thought of it as doing the paperwork before we left lol. We just went in street chothes and didnt make any fuss about it. We also didn't tell any of our guests. Good Luck!

We are getting married on June 3rd at the resort, but we are legally already married.  We didn't even have a ceremony--we had a friend of FI's brother who is a notery just sign our marriage certificate.  We didn't make it a big deal-we just did it to make things easier in Mexico.  We will 100% consider everythign on June 3rd our wedding day!!  It worked out perfect for us!  Good luck on your decision!

Have you  received your koozies yet? How is the quality? We ordered cheap ones from Oriental trading and they are awful. I've decided to order new ones. I'm mad i wasted the money, but the Oriental trading koozies are embarrassing, i don't know what we were thinking when we picked them. I don't even know what to do with them! haha

No we haven't ordered them yet. We are waiting to find out exactly how many we need. Our wedding isn't until December so we have awhile. I'm sorry to hear about yours!!! Thanks for posting that on here though because now we all know not to use oriental trading!! That really stinks but hopefully they weren't too expensive!

Im super excited also- its coming quickly!! Yamina is  also my wedding coordinator we just started emailing so I feel good about locking down all the specifics. I had been struggling with center pieces but I finally settled on white lanterns with shells inside them. They look great the only bad thing is I have to carry them all down. I emailed the spa about 3 times but they never got back to me so Im going to have to try them again. By any chance did you have the service/price list?

Wedding chicks have great items for purchase. And they aren't that expensive either.

You can also buy the bags online wholesale and then do the iron on transfers to personalize them.  It depends on how crafty/how much time you have.

Thanks for the advice!  I asked Yamina if I can have more than one option for the dinner and she gave me the go ahead.  I am thinking that three options would probably be best, especially if they have people's entree choices before hand.  I rather it cost extra, then having a few people not being able to eat.

 

My FI and are still debating between the gold and the platinum, although the platinum menu does have some of the same choices as the gold.

Its funny, you have the same opinion as my FI and I am thinking the same way as yours.  Right now we are planning on going to city hall after we get back, and "officially" getting married.  Then the day after we were probably going to leave on our honeymoon.

I am also thinking about having my best friend get certified from the Universal Life Church and marrying us while we are in Mexico. He is such an outgoing, and funny person that I think he would put together a great ceremony for us.

 

From my understanding, New York (I think you are form NY right?)  accepts weddings that have been officiated by ministers from ULC.  That way you are married and all you have to do is submit the papers into city hall.
