Hi ladies! I know this was covered in previous posts somewhere, but I can't seem to find them right now (too far back to search!).  I am a May 2014 bride so I know I have forever (is what people keep telling me) however I am already getting extremely frustrated and annoyed at this process.  When I first contacted DRC I was communicating with Evangelina (who no longer works there). I had confirmed the beach for ceremony and pool deck for reception.  Having the pool deck was the main reason we chose DRC, and this was communicated and confirmed with Evangelina as well through pictures etc.  We then sent in our deposit, and later found out she had left there.  Anyways, after a couple weeks (and with help of our TA) I finally was given my deposit receipt and assigned Gina as a WC by Gaby.  However, now I am being told I no longer can have the pool deck bc my estimated count is lower than 60.  At NO TIME did Evangelina ever tell me I had to have a certain amount of people.   I still have no heard back after numerous emails as well as sending them my previous emails from Evangelina confirming the locations.  I am beyond frustrated and do not feel like starting this whole process over and looking for a different resort.  I know the location probably seems minor to some, but it was the exact reason we went with this resort instead of others we were considering. 

 

I am not sure what I am expecting to get out of this post, I am just really frustrated and need to vent somewhere.  Is this the start to becoming a bridezilla? haha I certainly hope not as Mexico was supposed to be the laid back, stress free route. 

 

Any suggestions on what to do or where to go from here? I am in Canada until the end of May and then we get I get back stateside I guess I will try calling the resort.  I want to put down money for room deposits with my TA but I refuse to do that before I get the locations re-confirmed.

I am in somewhat of the same boat. I wanted the pool deck and can't have it either because I don't have enough people and don't want to pay the difference. The "locations" brochure states that you need to have 60 people. Sucks but thats the way it is now. I was told if is was free on that day when I get there we could still have it there. So, unless you are willing to pay for the additional guests, you may have to choose another location, or hotel if need be.  I've decided to go with the beach and I'm sure its going to be lovely.

I am also in the same boat as we will not have 60 guests, and so we are going with the Oceana Grill. It is right by the pool deck, had the covered restaurant area where we will do dinner and the level down is the wooden deck (separate from the pool deck but right beside) and that is where we will have the dance floor and dj. I wasn't happy about not getting the pool deck but I guess next best option right. The beach is a gorgeous set up, the pool terrace looks nice set up too.

Hola!  I was a Beaches Turks and Caicos bride, but due to some changes, we have changed venue to Dreams RC!  I'm working my way through the posts and am loving the reviews and tips. 

 

I feel like I've been engaged forever, but that's ok, I'm a patient person.  Me and the fiance got engaged last April 2012. We were supposed to get married this coming Oct 2013.  After trying to get pregnant for about a year it happened and I'm due June 29th.  Therefore we changed our date to Oct 2014 to give us time to focus on baby and wedding separately.  Plus I don't want to try to fit back into my wedding dress in just 3 months!  I'm still in the process of getting everything canceled and booked with Dreams.  The date we want is October 13, 2014, but nothing is confirmed yet.

So we have booked our wedding/holiday for Dreams and have requested for our wedding date to be 3rd October 2014, and we are just waiting for the Thomas Cook Wedding team to confirm that with the resort!

 

I know I have lots of time til my wedding but I can't help myself and keep planning little things.. SO EXCITED and can't wait to sit down and read through all of the posts on here as I know without all of you I would not know where to start xx

Hello ladies, I'm still in DRC had my wedding last Saturday leaving on Sunday...although the lack of email communication be patient as these ppl are pros....this place is a wedding factory and at least 2 weddings a day since I've been here. There were three weddings on my day but I didn't even notice. I'll post a full review next week when I return. I was 100% satisfied with the wedding. There were some hiccups with the hotel itself though. If I had to do it all over again I would def do my wedding here and then go to a Secrets for my honeymoon.

Ohh it will be nice to have someone close to my wedding date.  Congrats!
