Tiffany, I know exactly how you feel!  I often feel like the resort is just charging SO much for certain things, it starts to feel like they're really trying to squeeze every last penny out of us. Which is frustrating because of how much we're already spending, and how many people we're bringing to their resort!  And It really bothers me when they give out different prices to different brides - I know for a fact that I was quoted higher for our bridesmaids bouquets and our centrepieces than other brides on here.  And, case in point, I was talking to the spa and was told $66 for hair, $55 for makeup, but they didn't say it would be cheaper for short hair.  At least four of the women I booked for have hair above the shoulders.  And I specifically inquired about the 15% discount with the wedding package and they told me it could only be used for services for the bride and groom, and they didn't mention anything about a 15% discount if 6 ladies booked.  

 

I know I've said it before, but the charge that bothers me the most is the cost to rent the sound system.  I don't know of any venue around here that would charge extra to use a sound system during the ceremony, or to play from an IPOD during the reception.  If the price list I have is right (it could certainly be wrong, it's been wrong before!) it ends up being $800 just to have something to play our Ipod through!  It's nuts.  

 

It's totally unfair that you would get less pictures if you use the photos for something other than the ceremony.  It just doesn't make sense. I would definitely try to argue with them about that.

Hey Girls, I paid for my bridesmaids hair to be done and they DID NOT let me use the 15% discount. They said it only applied to me, but my hair and make up was already included so I actually didnt use it all. we did the massages that were free also... so i never actually used my 15% discount. Come to think of it... i ended up getting fake eye lashed put on ( $15  and looked extremely natural- highly recommend ) and i dont think they used my 15% discount! I also paid $6 for a lip gloss because after she did my make up i felt like my lip stick would be off by the time of the wedding so she let me purchase it since I liked it.. but yes be careful becasue they do know how to charge you for everything.

 

I paid 50$ for the microphone during my ceremony because i had a saxaphone player so i didnt have or need the sound system. but that really annoyed me also... $50 for a microphone so my guests could hear the ceremony... seems like that should be included.

I still have not received my slide show because they are waiting for me to send the song I want on an MP3 and i have no idea how to do this LOL.... i was thinking of putting a fast up beat song or using my wedding song in the backround but i dont understand why i cant just tell them the name of the song and they do it....

 

also i didnt realize the photos all just come on a cd.. im a little dissapointed because its not cheap and to still have to go and get the pictures done is a little crazy. maybe an outside photographer is not a terrible idea even though adventure does great work.

I believe I paid 100$ for the cake.. i dont remember how much extra it was per person and i dont have the break down infront of me. we also had a table of desserts come out at the end so i wasnt too worried about the cake .. i had almost 50 people but i think i got the cake for 35 or 40 people. also she charged me $40 for the flowers on it because otherwise she said it would just have been plain white. The cake was honestly DELICIOUS. i have pictures of after my groom fed me the cake i just kept eating it lol it was REALLY good ( we had chocolate ). i thought the flowers were nice but like i said i did pay for them.... if you want you can bring some fake flowers and they will put them on for you and then just remove it when its being cut.... i actually think you can make it prettier with fake flowers because mine looked nice but the flowers werent anything extra special. If i did it again I would bring my own to be placed on it.

haha i did the same thing!!! We have it on video where I ate the whole plate of cake after we fed each other!! We had tres leches and vanilla and it was delicious as well!!

Oh pick a song they already have downloaded!! That's what I told them to do. Our TTD is Brighter than the sun by colbie caillet... it's upbeat and fun! 

And our wedding slideshow was to somewhere over the rainbow/what a wonderful world by Iz. 

They already had both of those so I didn't have to send anything to them.

What are the rest of you planning on doing the day of your wedding?  We were planning on the girls spending the day at the spa.  I'm starting to feel so ripped off with things!

We were only allowed to use the spa for our honeymoon services!  The girls on the day of the wedding all hung out while we all got made up but they could not use the spa.  We had the presidential suite though so we just hung out in there.  It would've been nice if we could've gone early the morning of and relaxed there first though!

All you have to do is tell them the name of the song.  You don't need to send them the file.
