Video is amazing! Don't even know you guys, but cried my eyes out as I watched it. :0) How expensive is Mike? And did you have to deal with all the crap of him being an outside vendor, etc.?

Thank you,

Melissa

P.S. Thanks for continuing to be so involved in this forum! You have been helpful since day 1, with the videos from your site visit! All your information has been so helpful.

Thank you!!  We paid $2600 for 5 hours.  That includes the highlight video, 3 7D DSLR cameras, 2 DVDs and 1 blue ray, I believe.  We should have our DVDs next week.  :)  They were awesome to work with but it did take my coordinator a while to say yes!  I just kept pushing it.  Then we paid a $150 outside vendor fee.  Worth every penny!  To upgrade your package to the resort videographer [besides what is included] it's $2400 and not even close to as good of quality.

Thanks so much!  :)  I probably won't check back as often now that it's over.  :(  But feel free to email me any time with questions.  I love talking about our wedding hahah.  [email protected]

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this site, but I've been following it for the past few months!  I have a few questions (I've seen the answers scattered throughout), and I'm hoping maybe someone can help me out!

My fiance and I are planning on getting married at DRC sometime in the beginning of May 2013 (emailed DRC and waiting for a response for dates).  We're having about 40 guests, and planning on doing the free wedding (we are bringing our photographer, makeup artist, hairstylist etc so we don't need them through the packages).  I was thinking we would rent out a restaraunt for our reception (possiby Seaside Grill), and then just move the party to the disco for those who want to continue on...

Here's the questions:

1) DRC offers a promo pay for 5 rooms, receive the 6th one free.  If we're booking a Preferred room for ourselves for 7 nights to receive the free wedding, the other 19 or so rooms can be booked through this promo right? There won't be any interference with the wedding package?  My TA is a moron and can't tell me anything about this, and I haven't heard back from the resort yet.

2)  I read somewhere that if you're renting the Seaside Grill for a reception, you have to use the tables that are already in there... Can anybody tell me what size they are approx, and how many people are seated at each table?  Also, is there any possibility of switching out the chairs even ( I saw a picture of them and really didn't like them).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Kate

We just had our legal ceremony on 24th aug and we requested Linda (another bride earlier in this forum recommended her) so we paid an extra $100 for her but it was definitely worth it!!!

We got married on the 24th August and i cannot say enough about Lorena and Jorge who will be there right until the end of the reception. They will make your day perfect!!!!

Unfortunately it did rain on our wedding day just as i was about to start walking down the aisle at 5.30!! The day had been beautiful sunshine up until then but luckily they postponed the ceremony for 30 minutes and we were able to carry on getting married on the beach and having the cocktail hour on the beach. We made the decision to have the reception in the ballroom as it was still very stormy and rained but this was decorated beautifully and it was nice to be out of the wind to eat. I was very disappointed about this but to be honest it was all done extremely well and was still fantastic!

I will write a review when i get back, we are still on honeymoon at the moment but did pick up our photos from Anel and they are fantastic!!!

Don't stress girls they know exactly what they are doing and to be honest you can plan most of it a week before (apart from the bits you are bringing from home)but the flowers etc... you can all do that when you arrive and if you want to change anything they are so accommodating its great!

Hey Lindsey- I'm a little concerned about my make up being done in the Spa for my wedding. What type of make up did they use and did they do a good job? I use good make up at home so I was thinking of bringing my own and having them use it but I'm not sure...any insight you have would be helpful!

Thanks!!

Hola Ashley,

I honestly don't know what type of makeup they use at the Spa but I do know that they do a pretty good job and if you bring pictures, ideas and inspiration they are happy to work with you!!

These are a few pictures of our most recent Dreams Riviera Cancun Bride that got ready at the Spa:

I Got Married at DRC May 24th 2012,

It was more perfect than I could ever have imagined!!!

I have not yet written a review and I will get everything organized in the next little bit so I can help out any future brides.

What I'll say for now is that I would highly recommend the resort, we had 72 guests and everything was just amazing.

Hi Ashley!  I am honestly not sure what she used on me.  She did a great job!  I will say it looked very used and I don't know how clean the brushes were.  I use good make up too but I did a trial to see if I needed to bring my own.  It seemed like mineral foundation and maybe mac eye shadows...but overall it was an array of make up.  While she did a great job, if you're weird about make up and cleanliness of brushes then maybe bring your own and she will be good at putting it on!
