Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

Just in case anyone else wanted to visit before making a decision on the resort…..I recently contacted Dreams Riviera Cancun to find out if they do anything special for a visit to see the resort for wedding purposes.  Karisma resorts (Azul's, Generations, El Dorado) do this and they call it a Brides Dress Rehearsal.  Dreams told me they do a $110 per person per night reduced rate for a maximum of 3 nights and if you decide to book your wedding with them then they will refund the full amount they charged you to stay there during that initial trip.

I stayed there for 4 nights at that rate for my visit in February but they never said anything about reimbursement. I'll have to ask my coordinator! Thanks!

Has anyone seen or read about the difference between the north and south beaches? Thanks!

North beach is right next to the rentals, like kayaks and stuff. There are lots of palpapas and loungers on the beach around it and when I watched a wedding (yes I was one of those people haha) there were lots of people watching with me. It's very close to the hotel. These are north beach ceremonies:

South beach is more private. No chairs around it and a bit of a walk from the hotel. I saw one wedding at the north and one wedding at the south. I actually can't find any pics of south beach ceremonies so I assume north beach is more popular.

@@nattiegams325  My travel agent didn't offer me that deal and I just happened to e-mail Dreams to ask about it and that is what they told me.  I asked my travel agent about it and she said that she could not offer that because it was a special only the resort could offer because the resort would be reimbursing us.  I would definitely check with the resort if you booked your trip with them.

  • HI Ladies, does anyone know the form of payments accepted? I have so many emails I cant find the info.... I just checked with my bank and they charge 3% international fee on all transactions so paying for the wedding in full by card would trigger a hefty fee. but my finacee is nervous about carrying all that cash on him so I was wondering if any of you know does the resort accept travelers checks? thinking maybe I could get a travelers check for the majority estimate and then bring the rest cash

Hi TaraLynn770:

My fiance and I both opened Capitol One cards and they do not charge an international fee. We are using the Capitol One card to pay for our room as well, that way there are not surprise charges. You can always cancel the card later, we are keeping it as an emergency credit card since there is no annual fee.

I'm not sure the policy on checks, but I would definietly not feel comfortable carrying that kind of cash.

I hope that helps!

I'm going to do a site tour in July.  We've actually already booked but we want to go early to really get a look at everything and make a few selections.  Does anyone know if they offer special room rates for this.

did you decide to use the cellar for your welcome reception?  We're actually considering it for our wedding rehearsal.
