Couple questions about the sand ceremony.

1. Does the resort provide glass bottle for you to take the sand home in?

2. is anyone bringing their own bottles? are you bringing colored sand?

3. will it travel ok? can you bring sand back into the US?

As much as i'd like to order some commemorative bottles for our sand with our name and wedding date, i'm not too sure how i feel about bringing that back to the States.

You have to bring your own things.  I'm bringing sand from home and combining it with sand from the beach there.  I've seen others using colored sand that matches their colors.  If its in ziplock bags, you should be ok traveling.

thank you! No that was the video that came with the Ultimate package.  How is yours different?

Music plays through the whole thing. So we don't get to hear our vows and it is not as artfully video taped. Plus we got 2 cd's for the whole video and it cuts off on the first one just before our kiss

Question about the DRC wedding coordinator. I see that many of you talk about a lady named Yamina, however I have been corresponding with a lady named Evangelina....Is there more than 1 wedding coordinator?

Thanks :-)

Hi KellyKellz,

Evangelina (Gina) was my wedding coordinator. On the day we arrived we dealt with Yamina and she is much better than Gina and speaks better english. We had a language barrier with Gina and certain things we told her we wanted done or didn't want done she blatently ignored or just did not understand. Therefore I suggest make sure she understands completly what you want and expect.

Did you do a tres leches cake? If so, how was it? thanks!

I got my hair done at the resort and I gave the lady a picture and she did a good job even though my hair was shorter than needed to do the style exactly.

The makeup however, I did not bring a picture. I asked for a light smokey eye, and she made me up to look like a clown. So much makeup that did not compliment my skin colour, nor was smokey eye. Also if your concerned with hygiene they do not clean their brushes and dip them back into the makeup. I also brought some of my own colours because I felt like they would not have darker foundations to match my skin tone and I was right. If you are concerned with these things I would bring your own makeup and bring a picture and maybe it will match.

My guests said the food at the cocktail hour was good. My husband and I did not get to enjoy it fresh because of having to take pictures, so by the time we got there what was left of the cold food was not at its best. I would recommend the Tempura Shrimp Satay, those all went and my mom had to put some aside for me so that we would have a taste of everything.

The reception food was amazing, but really depends what you choose.

For a starter I would recommend the Raviolis filled with Spinach and Three Cheese Sauce way better than our pasta entree

By the time we were ready for cake, after the included desert mind you, everyone was too full to really eat the cake. So unfortunatly the cake mostly went to waste.

The desert we chose was the best desert we had during our entire stay at the resort, absolutly delicious! Millefeuille

ADD Headups: if anyone's a cheesecake lover, the cheesecake is very different from what I know. Maybe they use different milk or prepare it differently, but it is not the same at all!

And you can choose more than one entree if you have a headcount of who wants what ahead of time and a seating plan so they know where to place each entree.

I think we might have to many people to do something like that or they would charge us and like everyone else I think that is ridiculous that we are at an all inclusive resort and have to still pay at the resteraunts.  Its something that I could check in to though.  Thank you for the suggestion.

I planned on doing the same thing (combining colored sand with sand from the beach).  How do you plan on traveling home with it so it doesnt dump out? Thats the part that Im worried about.
