Hi ladies!  I have some questions/need advice.  I'm hoping someone can help!!!

 

- Our ceremony is at 11am.  Our reception will be laid-back, and we are just hoping to have dinner/lunch in one of the restaurants (we have around 30-35 guests).  From what I hear, the only restaurants open for lunch are Oceana and Seaside.  Is this right?  And I hear that they get very crowded around lunchtime.  With that being said, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would be best.  Should we have a late lunch following the ceremony and pictures?  Or should we wait and have our reception at night?  My concern with doing the later is that it will be inconvenient for guests (ie:  they have to come back for dinner), and that we will have to change back into our wedding attire after a day in the sun, etc.  Any thoughts?

 

- I've heard that the hotel hands out daily itineraries to each room.  Is this correct?  We were going to provide our own itineraries in the OOT bags, but I'm wondering if that's necessary?

 

- How is everyone getting OOT bags to guests?  I think I read that they will deliver for $1 each.  Does anyone know if they do this?  Or can they hand them out to guests at check-in?  Does anyone know?

Wow... so glad to hear someone had this happen.

I've been emailing with Ana all this time (and terrible response time as usual it seems) then all the sudden i get a few from this Gabriela person- and i was like ???

She responded to emails i sent ana WAY back when i first booked my wedding..on issues thats Ana and I have already worked out- not sure if they're not communicating with each other or what? This just makes me worry even more.....im sure like me every bride on here is sitting around for months stressing over this stuff and isnt included in any of the planning till a day or two before the big day.I understand they have a busy job and they probly do well at it...but come on weddings are an important day in our lives- its like hire someone else to help... or make a set time to respond to important emails!! =(

we are planning on doing this too...we have small group of about 10- and since Ana claims its "hard" to get that many people seated together, I figured i'd talk to El Patio Manager when we get there and ask for them to push two tables together (like its not that big of a deal!!)

I was wondering if you remember the managers name.. or where you went to get ahold of him at the resort??

Yea, I'm just now working on my save the dates.  Everyone is asking for information about the resort and etc.... I wish I would of done them sooner!

Hi Missy!  You absolutely can book for June 2011 right now. I booked June 18 2011 back in March.  It takes Ana a while to get back to you but keep emailing her!

I took all my things and I got activity books from the dollar tree, pens, playing cards, a little medicine kit with ibuprofen, immodium tablets, chapstick, etc, as well as a handmade activity book with schedule. It was all a big hit. I also bough aloe and hand sanitizer, but kept it in plastic bags until we arrived. It was all a big hit. If I did it again, I'd also include bug spray.

 

For the kids, I used stackable plastic buckets w/shovels, coloring books, crayons, and sunglasses all from the Dollar Tree. It all fit in one bucket until we arrived. Good luck!

All my guests were staying there, so I just set a time to meet in the lobby bar two days before. Half of them forgot, though, so I sent out a mass text to all those who brought phones (I highly recommend bringing them and turning off data roaming) and they came up, and I gave them all the time changes then.

I used Jorge, one of the resort photographers. I've been told multiple times by friends and family that I had the best wedding pictures they've ever seen - I was very happy. You can see my slide show here: http://talkington.adventurephotosmx.com/ My advice: they will take as many pictures as you want for no extra charge, wedding day and before and after. Plan on buying them all for about $800 and have them come to everything, even just hanging by the pool, TTD, rehearsal, etc.
